Ripe time to launch considering there could be plenty of Tiago owners looking for an upgrade.

Is TATA aiming to do a Hyundai by slapping the same tail lights in all its future offerings? Overall looks are good, but they need to have a differentiation between their cars by at least having different tail light designs, the connected tail lights look huge for this hatchback.

Design is definitely not cohesive, and not one of Tata Motor's best efforts. Too much of a busy design, with too much going on at too many places throughout the body.

The speedometer console looks straight out of the early 2000's Honda City and the like. What were they thinking when they plonked in this console in a display car in Geneva?

re: Tata developing a premium hatchback, the Altroz. Edit: Launched at 5.29 lakh.

Suddenly all the interest about Altroz dived. The design is awkward, the proportions doesn't look good. The front is too heavy, the front glass is too big. Its as if the front and back has been designed by two separate designers. After giving giving proportional headlamps on Tiago, and sleek front design of Harrier, its as if they went back a generation with this Indicaesque/ Hexa look-a-like headlamps.

Disappointed to a certain extent!

One more thing, the steering boss is too small.

Weird designs and what more weirder are the colours! Have to be the worst colour choices for reveal in the recent history! The renders of Altroz looked better than the original.

Could be the pictures playing the trick, will have to wait to see in flesh. Instrument cluster looks to be like an afterthought.

re: Tata developing a premium hatchback, the Altroz. Edit: Launched at 5.29 lakh.

All my enthusiasm on the Altroz dies out at the sight of the production spec images! Tata was known for making the production version as exciting as the concept with Nexon and Harrier. But this is highly disappointing...I just can't comprehend what they have done to the rear of the production spec ones . Why should someone wait for so long to get something like a mid-cycle facelift of the Bolt? The trajectory of the waistline further spoils the profile...Tiago is better still...Such a nice looking concept it was...I prefer to go back to those images and hope that sometime Tata will produce a car of the sort!

Looks are subjective...and just my two cents!!

re: Tata developing a premium hatchback, the Altroz. Edit: Launched at 5.29 lakh.

Somehow the teasers and the final car gives me a different perspective. But hey, it still maybe too early to comment.

Couple of observations:

1) Somehow the front face reminds me of the Fiat Argo from a certain angle.
2) The black garnish on the window lining is glossy and could be a scratch magnet. Externally the windows give a bigger appearance than it actually is due to this garnish.
3) Thick A pillars may spoil the visibility while taking turns.
4) I don't see the electric parking brake in the pics. Neither do I see the Auto gear box.
5) Instrument cluster is fully digital. Is it going to be similar to the new VW cluster that can show the navigation?
6) The central AC console and the dashboard looks dated. The Nexon's dash looks way better. Central touchscreen unit is a direct lift from the Nexon.
7) Is the steering too small or the Tata logo too big?
8) No sunroof? Competition offers it.
9) Rear boot has a low loading lip which is a good thing.
10) As pointed above, the rear design looks too busy.

re: Tata developing a premium hatchback, the Altroz. Edit: Launched at 5.29 lakh.

Overstyled - the production version, specially the rear 3/4th view, with all those black elements in the rear and side windowline. Impact Design 2.0 is losing elegance in favour of 'look-at-me!'.

Altroz EV looks good, so many be the Altroz production version would look good in darker colours as well - which can hide all that black.
