re: Tata developing a premium hatchback, the Altroz. Edit: Launched at 5.29 lakh.

Looks like there's some extensive off-road testing on Altroz. Came across these on the Auto punditz Facebook page

re: Tata developing a premium hatchback, the Altroz. Edit: Launched at 5.29 lakh.

Seeing the immense width of Altroz can we also expect a spacious C2 segment sedan in future based on the same platform?
As of now Tata doesn't has any proper full size sedan in it's portfolio.

Looks like it has been rear ended as well.

Yes. Platform teaser released by Tata Motors also hints at a premium sedan based on Altroz. I hope they bring it out soon as there are no solidly built options left in this segment apart from the Germans.

Watch this video at 0:09 for the sedan emerging out of the 45X (Altroz);

re: Tata developing a premium hatchback, the Altroz. Edit: Launched at 5.29 lakh.

In the above video posted by self_driven, it looks like they were trying to illustrate the possibilities from the 2 platforms of Harrier and Altroz. Going by that, it looks like behind the Harrier was Buzzard. And behind Buzzard there's a premium sedan which was also shown in concept last year.

Similarly, behind the Altroz seems to be H2X (and it looks bigger than the altroz so I think it could be close to a compact SUV size?) and behind H2X is another sedan, perhaps a compact sedan (perhaps a successor to Tigor couple of years later).

I'm just speculating though.

Why the rear wiper is so short, hampering the airiness in cabin? Looks like c-pillar is designed just like Nexon.

Sorry, I didn't get your question. How can rear wiper hamper the airiness in the cabin? It's about same length like all other Tata cars off late including the Harrier. It's not as great as in Hexa, but does the job alright.

For your reference:

Tiago's wiper:

Nexon's wiper:

And Harrier's:

Also, C-pillar design is more Tiago'ish than Nexon.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. When lot of muck gets stuck on the rear windshield, the lengthy wiper is desirable, so that great area could be cleaned up, enhancing the airiness/sunlight inside the cabin. Thick C-pillar do not help matters here.

re: Tata developing a premium hatchback, the Altroz. Edit: Launched at 5.29 lakh.

It's good to see the Altroz being tested this extensively. I'm posting the latest shots from Carwale and Gaadiwaadi here.

I read online that the service training for the Altroz has already begun and they've been told that the vehicle will be launched in August itself. Also, the Altroz will likely be a "connected" car with technology integrated by Siemens & Harman.

Length of rear wiper is limited by the height of rear glass. Some cars come with L-shaped wipers (Beat, WagonR, Jazz etc.) which provide a slightly better swipe area.

Good news this. August launch will be diesel only, or even petrol?

The car looks so damn proportional. I've always found the Jazz to be too bulky at its rear and Baleno sits quite low. Can't wait to get more info on the car.

Mods, you'll should try and get more info into what goes into car testing. Would be a great informative thread.

Teaser

I expect this to be blocked or removed very soon as it says "Bookings Open" at the very end. Therefore, I'm attaching the screenshots as well.

Thank you jailbird fynix for sharing the video.

There are informations that the official unveiling of the Altroz will be in August 2019 and the launch will be in September 2019.

I'm eagerly waiting for its launch.

re: Tata developing a premium hatchback, the Altroz. Edit: Launched at 5.29 lakh.

Came across this picture on Rushlane's instagram page. It seems to be a lower variant of the Altroz since it doesn't have fog lamps and the front bumper is black.

Projector headlamps on lower variants will be a good deal indeed.
