re: Tata developing a premium hatchback, the Altroz. Edit: Launched at 5.29 lakh.

Tata usually makes scale models from Norev, not sure if this one is from same. More than the car that scale model seems to have created quite a buzz on this thread

Tata, why cant you keep them in showrooms to attract customers before the launch?

I hope the quality of the car is in line with the grandeur of the invitation. Tata seemed to be going the right direction with the Tiago and Tigor, but I've personally heard comments about how raw the Harrier was.

Slightly OT, but was curious to know what that contraption is, on the left. Looks like header pipes cut and covered with tea strainer??

Tata is leaving no stone unturned to keep the interest at peak for all enthusiasts.

Waiting with high hopes for the Gravitas and the Altroz, with the previous one as a shopping cart contender next year.

It seems like a showpiece made using the cylinder head plate of a V8 (or 10!) block.

If you look closely - you'll see laser etched SUZUKA track layout on it.

The presentation is first world "gold" standard, hope the service & ownership experience follows the same standard. I say this because after what happened with Concorde, they surely have less leverage pushing dealers for better service standards.

Anyway, since this is a new beginning in premium hatchbacks for them, hope they commit with a 7-yr extended warranty like other car-makers are doing with new launches & even an attractive AMC scheme. That will ease some "new product long term reliability" worries & help Tata compete with the upcoming Elite i20.

I also hope they make a very serious effort to ensure good amount of TD cars. And that the TD cars are very well maintained & don't have broken arm rests & door handles secured with duct-tapes after being pulled out by customers or their own drivers on some TD. That will end the life of this car before it takes off.

I'm wondering what they'll call it?

"Next Gen Elite i20 NIOS Elegante - CRDi Asta (Option)" perhaps? Or that's still too short for a Hyundai name?

re: Tata developing a premium hatchback, the Altroz. Edit: Launched at 5.29 lakh.

Keeping the sensational invitation aside, some are going way ahead to predict the gold standard they are trying to achieve with this car just because the marketing team used that word. From what I could understand the only reason they have used the word GOLD is because the cars to be used during Jaisalmer drive is going to be that golden color, same as that scale model

Have we got any confirmed reports about availability of Automatic version during launch/drive event?

re: Tata developing a premium hatchback, the Altroz. Edit: Launched at 5.29 lakh.

It's a busy Q4 2019 and Q1 2020 for Tata, they seem to be on a launch spree, keeping all Auto enthusiast excited plus being an Pure Indian brand it adds to that extra enthusiasm.

16th Dec: Tata Nexon Ev followed by Tata Altroz then Tata Gravitas.
Tata has come a long way, hopefully, Nexon EV, Altroz and Gravitas live up to the hype which Tata marketing team has created hoping none of the product is rushed in for launch as was the case with Tata Harrier.

Three months three segments Premium Hatchback, CSUV Ev & 7 Seater Suv

Car seems to be a promising product.
Will be sold as a premium hatchback, and I hope I'm wrong but, maybe it's bit too late to the party.

Sometimes this car reminds me of Godzilla

I'm already loving it. Anything which is devoid of chrome: A big Yes!
No doubt it was one of the criteria for me, when I was in the market for a C segment sedan this February.

[Yeah you guessed it right, it was a Skoda rapid with minimal chrome treatment in the segment]
