Thank you GTO and I am so looking forward to this

I know there are not a lot of secrets to be let out at Auto expo, but something tells me there may be surely one or two 'Last Minute Surprises' this time around.

Glued to this thread now...

Why is Skoda not launching the new Rapid in India ?

Its been there in the EU since 2012.

Is it under so much of pressure of VW that it will kill its own identity.

Don't think so, as they had well timed launch for the Octavia & now Superb. Then why not this product ?

Can someone clarify this ?

Moreover, Skoda would have completed their family look makeover. Only Rapid is left out of it as of now. Very hard to understand their strategy
The Rapid is actually manufactured in Volkswagen's facility in Chakan and not at Skoda's Aurangabad plant, therefore they are dependent on VW deciding to replace the current generation Vento with the new model, for the new Rapid to be launched.

The Superb & Octavia are assembled at Aurangabad, so Skoda has more autonomy with these models.

Besides, I'm sure VAG won't let Skoda sell a newer Rapid alongside the current generation Vento.

The Isuzu Dmax Vcross website is up and running.

Tata has always teased us with Indica sports versions since its launch in 1999, these models seeing the daylight. Never happened.

Hope the present situation forces Tata to try every trick up their sleeves and launch the Bolt Sport.

Personally, similar to the egg shaped design that dominated Indica line of cars, the new ones are having the front headlamp design from Aria. I would like them to move away from the design. Doesnt look that great.
Dont understand whats the big deal in putting in a little extra effort to make the cars look better?

Chevrolet Essentia Concept displayed at the Auto Expo.

Chevrolet has showcased the Essentia concept at the 2016 Auto Expo, that has opened its gates for the media today. This concept will go into production as a sub-4m sedan, that is based on the same platform that underpins the popular Beat hatchback.

Once launched in its production avatar, this Chevrolet sedan will rival the likes of Maruti DZire, Honda Amaze and Tata Zest.

Super - looking forward to all the real time updates. This is great for all the keyboard warriors stuck behind their desks.

I'm specially looking forward to the updates from Maruti, Honda and Toyota. Brezza, Ignis, BR-V, Accord, New Innova, new T-Fort. These will all (barring Accord I guess) be products of significance.

Is Toyota planning to release Innova pricing as well at the Expo? I recall reading somewhere that Toyota is starting new Innova bookings as soon as 5th Feb.

Yes one of the most significant launches would be the all New Innova and heard that it would be a full launch with pricing etc. Would be surprised if otherwise.

The other launch, in fact the first dekko for many in the general public would be the Brezza. Would be a bestseller if priced well.

Overall exciting times ahead with the Auto Expo 2016 beginning soon enough. Surely the ring side view is only at our very own TeamBHP.

The new Easy-R Gear Box by Renault is a five-speed Automated Manual Transmission system derived from Renault’s Formula 1 expertise, the company says. It can be operated with an Innovative Shift Control Dial with three driving modes – Reverse, Neutral and Drive – placed beneath the infotainment system on the centre console.

The dial was expected as the MT carries a blank there. Looks cool and saves a lot of space.

But there is no dead pedal and the brake pedal is too narrow for an AT/ AMT. Hope the pedal is bigger when the car is put on sale.

Hyundai Tucson showcased at Auto Expo, likely to be launched around June 2016

Hyundai has revealed the new Tucson at 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, after it was made open to the media today. This Hyundai crossover is expected to be launched around June, with deliveries starting from the second half of 2016.

If sources are to be believed, the Hyundai Tucson will be slotted between the Creta and the SantaFe in the Korean Manufacturer's Indian portfolio. Moreover, the company is planning to launch just the diesel avatar of the Tucson in India, which will likely have a capacity of 2.0-litre.

Hyundai plans to clock around 30 thousand sales from the Tucson moniker, per year. Competing against the likes of the Mahindra XUV 500 and Tata Safari Storme, the Tucson must be priced aggressively in order to make a mark in the industry.
