The new one looks far better in flesh -I drove one recently overseas , has far crisper lines and is imposing , trouble will be pricing . I don't think they can price this lower than 1 crore which will mean a considerable difference between X5 . So in all probability this is going to be dud like other CBU models from BMW unless they do something differently .

re: BMW to launch new X6 in India. EDIT: Now launched @ Rs. 1.15 crores

So looks like it is the X6 40d with the M sport kit, 20 inch wheels, Bang & Olufsen and night vision amongst other things. I would expect this to be around 90-1cr ex showroom.

And the X5M and X6M. Nuff said.

BUT with BMW's latest initiative or reducing pricing it will be interesting to see what they do with this pricing too. They need to continue to walk the talk across the board. Their CBU pricing has been ridiculous, the M3 and M4 have not even been able to sell a handful. Time they bring some correction to CBU prices too.

re: BMW to launch new X6 in India. EDIT: Now launched @ Rs. 1.15 crores

So the X6 has been launched at 1.15 ex showroom. Frankly I'm not sure who will pay this much for an X6, even though its well loaded. I would have really thought 90l would have been an acceptable price, with the X5 being assembled here and having a slightly less powerful engine at 68l for the top end 5 seater.

Spec sheet is attached for anyone who cares

This just makes me wonder, the X5M and X6M will be priced around 1.6-1.7 and will be over 2cr on road. BMW has lost the plot with their CBU pricing.

re: BMW to launch new X6 in India. EDIT: Now launched @ Rs. 1.15 crores

well this is within estimated range only given the CBU and duties . Given the price of about 55-60,000 USD there is no way they could have launched it below 1 Cr . It will be too difficult for anyone to pay 40-50 Lac difference over X5 as these looks so similar internally .

Seriously wish they are not able to sell these and one of the unsold units becomes available couple of months later at BMW discounts

Second gen BMW X6 launched in India at Rs. 1.15 crores

The second generation of its Sports Activity Coupe (as BMW calls it), the BMW X6 xDrive40d has been launched in India, priced at Rs. 1.15 crores. This car will be available in the M Sport trim variant only. It is brought to India in India via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route which attracts the highest level of taxes.

Changes to the exteriors are subtle. It includes new headlamps, kidney grill, bumpers, fog lamps, alloy wheels, side air dam, tail lamps and rear buper with a diffuser. There are a total of 5 body colours available - Alpine White, Carbon Black, Flamenco Red, Mineral White and Metallic Alpine White.

Interiors of the X6 are available with a variety of trim and upholstery options to choose from. Features such as cruise control, launch control, adaptive LED headlights & LED fog lamps, a Harman Kardon Surround Sound system, iDrive Touch, sunroof etc, come as standard with the X6.

In 2012, when it received a facelift, it was available with a petrol and a diesel engine. This time around, BMW has launched the X6 with only a TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder diesel engine which produces 308 BHP and a max torque of 600 Nm between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and has paddle shifters too. The company claims that this car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.8 seconds and has a top speed of 240 km/h. This car still manages an ARAI fuel economy figure of 15.87 kmpl.

It is equipped with xDrive - BMW's all-wheel drive technology. It also features an adaptive air-suspension package with dynamic damper control

Safety kit includes six airbags, Dynamic Stability Control (including Dynamic Traction Control), Cornering Brake Control and Hill Descent Control among others.

Re: BMW to launch new X6 in India. EDIT: Now launched @ Rs. 1.15 crores

One and a half crores for a more impractical X5? Makes no sense. This is near Range Rover Sport money and which would you rather be seen in?

The Merc GL is bigger, cheaper and better in every way.
You'll be better off eating the money than buying this, whatever it is supposed to be.

Re: BMW to launch new X6 in India. EDIT: Now launched @ Rs. 1.15 crores

The looks are indeed impressive. It's a good package overall but what spoils everything is its horrible pricing. A 10 lakh pricing over the X5 is justified considering the stunning looks, but over 1 Cr is down right outrageous.
