Cehcked Hertz, Rent-a-car and Avis - they rent out only Indica/Santro/Ikon on self drive. That's no good for me.
Any info would be highly appreciated. |
Avis rents innovas. I can guarantee this cos I just rented one last week. Just go to
Avis Rent A Car, Inc. and reserve.
Err... just saw the post date. Apologies.
Carzonrent (whose link has also been provided in this thread) is the official franchisee of Hertz International in India. Services are good although rates are higher. A friend of mine 9who incidentally works in Hertz Dubai) had come to India and we rented the Swift for a week on self drive basis.
All, thanks for the replies. I'll keep you updated on the prices
any idea in Hyderabad. I had the same issue for my last trip and ended up going in train as no MUV available on rent (self drive)
Thanks.
i have been calling up almost all the car rental places in bangalore, but no one is ready to give an innova for self-drive rent. There are a couple of places that give Qualis, but I am not comfortable driving that. Does anyone know of any place that gives an Innova or even a Tavera for self driven rent? please let me know asap since I need the vehicle for Thursday evening..... thanks!!
Avis
2400bux + tax for car only. You put your own fuel.

Interesting, they dont have Innova under self-drive option in Kolkata. This is discrimination!
^^They do have. Not listed on avis.co.in but listed on avis.com. In kolkata, they have innovas, lancers, corollas and balenos on self drive. If I ever need a rental car, I go to avis before anyone else as they seem to have a worldwide presence, excellent corporate discounts and nice customer service. I just can't tolerate cab drivers and hence self drive is my only option wherever I go.

Corporate discounts?! How does tht work? There wasnt any option online for that.....
If you book from the global site -
Avis Rent A Car, Inc. and if your company has a corporate discount code, you can just enter it there and get a lower rate.
Hi,
Could any of you let me know what are the places/agencies in Bangalore where Self Driven cars are available on rental basis.
Also if you have rented anytime in the past please update the rates.
I know that Hertz offers rentals, but its on the costly side i.e. close to 2k per day with taxes for a Santro , + they have all kinds of restrictions that the total KM's covered should not exceed 150 and stuff.
Ps: Interested to know if they are local folks who run Self-driven rental services. eg: In Goa I could rent a Zen for as low as Rs 600/- per day.
Thanks
Fillmore
Avis... Cheaper than hertz and no mileage restrictions.
Anybody having any suggestions about a good car rental service in Trivandrum?
WITHOUT driver rental preffered.

Renting in goa cannot be compared to renting a car/bike in any of the cities !! In goa it is nt legal to do it for the matter it aint legal anywhere in the country to do it the goa way !! But scince it s a touristy place and even the police know s the local s do not have any better options to make a quick buck in season time hence it is quite chilled out . 600 buck s was a neat bargain which time of the year was it anyway ? and from where ?
Hey guys,
anyone know if there is any agency in mumbai that rents out sports cars?
thanks!
