Its more or less established that once a leader among Indian auto sector players, FIAT has lost it almost to every other player operating out of India.

Chevy does not want to do anything except showing us their India FB page with American Models while serving us with Chinese products and FIAT is just acting / happy being a back-bencher in India while competition (MSIL) has already brought their Engines in India.

Just for the information here, Suzuki is already in discussions for the 1.9 l license, which if happens anytime soon will provide them access to one of the finest diesel motors and when we know that MSIL is valued more than its parent Suzuki; even the 1.9 l mill will find entry into Indian market while FIAT will stay peripatetic with just the license fee from such contracts

Frankly - if this is just a small facelift / limited edition; there is no reason why it should take too much of time for a company which is producing just 2 cars in India?

I am not superstitious, yet I believe that the relationship between FIAT and TATA (even after parting ways in terms of common dealership) for sharing production facilities at Chakan (Pune) is not working out well, something is seriously wrong somewhere. Both players are struggling for a revival.

This edition looks very good. What'll make it better is a good, powerful engine. The best selling cars B2 segment upwards have very good power-to-weight ratios. Linea's suspension and weight demands the 320NM producing 1.6L. Add the 1.6 to this edition and you have one rocking car. And put the Abarth TJet 135/150HP engine in the petrol version please (if wishes were horses under the hood).

I feel there is no point for these updates. Public in general has lost interest in Fiat, infact Punto or Linea, rarely comes in contention, for new car buying, at least based on my experience. All the competition has upped the ante - and Fiat is can't show any interesting product platform for India, except for the brilliant engines - again made popular by Maruti. Maybe financially Fiat is making enough money without spending anything on product platform.

They need to come up with a disruptive force to market like what Duster did, and create a stir - may be Chrysler products - priced right - to make sure people walk talk about the products. Till then looks like everyone is dragging there feet !!

Those side skirts and alloys look hideous. Somehow this latest makeover makes the Linea appear somewhat like the SX4. Fiat seems to have run out of ideas and options.

Fiat India is missing the following ideas from its peers:-

1. More powerful engines (both petrol & diesel)
2. Automatic Transmission

The Linea is one of the nicest looking sedans available today, and with the top T-Jet Trim has comparable features to its peers.

Lack of ideas & probably service are responsible for the poor sales.

Had they just provided 1.6 Lt as option, that would have sufficed.

No need for all the pomp and show of stickers, decals and what not. IMO Linea looks classy as it is, with these sticker and skirt job it takes away the classiness.

Sorry but can we get better pictures uploaded here? Never seen such bad pictures loaded in any thread. Specially the one in which it looks car which is less than 3 m in length

Unfortunately, these are the only images we have got. They are from the company.

I guess all other websites and publications have received the same pictures.

They did sell it to around 2,300 people in April 14-March 2015. Around 411 people bought the Linea in Apr-June 2015. There would always be someone around (though lesser and lesser) who might be hooked.
