Re: Rumour: New Maruti Alto 800 coming in December 2015; could get diesel engine

The Alto with diesel engine is good news - it will presumably carry all the emission compliance necessary to keep it alive for a few years at least. And a small frugal diesel with perhaps class leading FE is sure to gladden the hearts of all. Would it be too much to expect them to launch an SHVS version alongside.....

Re: Rumour: New Maruti Alto 800 coming in December 2015; could get diesel engine

Dear TEAM,

I think the images of the interiors posted a few posts back is misleading. The interior shot posted above is from the K10, whereas if we look at the front images of the facelifted Alto, there is still that central AC dome visible on the dash, which was present in the older Alto 800(pre-facelift). That dome is absent in the new K10's dash, which has a flat top!!

Regards,
Shashi

Did I just see a tachometer in the new dashboard ? That would be first in segment (800 cc)

Lets deal with the elephant in the room first. The Alto does not sell for its looks, Maruti knows that. This is only to grab some attention, possibly deviate from the Redi-Go. Interiors are changed to make it more appealing, the Redi-Go's dashboard is too mediocre compared to Alto K10's (which will now be used in the 800 cc Alto)

But it is good to see Maruti finally responding to competition. Feeling the heat eh, MSIL ?

+1
The Kwid has definitely brought a lot of uncomfortableness to Maruti.

Maruti doesn't like anyone else other than itself selling 10K units a month !!
