For what it's worth, Diesel Auto is available in SX+ which has no manual variant. It's possible that the manual SX(O) and Auto SX+ are very identical with minimal differences. Guess time will tell.

Yes, It could be a loaded trim but a couple of features lesser than petrol fully loaded model. Actually only Next Gen verna is listed in website now. No booking available online for outgoing verna

For the Hyundai Solaris, this is the feature breakdown amongst the variants. I got this from the official site and translated it to English. Ofcourse, Indian variants will likely miss out on a few features compared to Solaris. Even Solaris has 4 variants like India, hence this could be the mapping -

Active -> E
Active Plus -> EX
Comfort -> SX
Elegance -> SX(O)

Glad that they finally got rid of the 4 speed AT. There's one previous gen Verna with us and that autobox was such a let down.

My SA is off to Chennai for sales training and should have few test drives sessions (as been told to them). Hoping to get some feedback from him and some pictures next week.

Maybe because they want to keep the price range under a certain ceiling. Thus SX+ may be SX(O) minus a few gizmos. hope nothing essential is removed.

2018 Hyundai Verna to launch on 22nd of this month.

Hyundai will launch the new Verna in India on August 22, 2017. The rival to the Honda City and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz was first revealed as a concept at the 2016 Beijing auto show last August. 2017 saw the launch of a Russia-spec model (called the Solaris) and a Canada-spec model (named the Accent)

Doubt it. This is standard Hyundai formula. Look at the Creta, the automatics are still not available in top spec. This is probably done to keep the price low. When will Hyundai learn that an automatic can have 6 airbags in the sub 20 lakh segment? Frustrati.

Received an SMS today from Hyundai that their dealerships have started taking bookings for the Next gen Verna. Hyundai seems to have geared up to gather handsome pre-launch bookings before the impending launch on 22nd August.
