Super Body Structure, does it mean they are not releasing the weights for this car as well?

Ventilated seats sounds awesome. Hopefully not only in top end variant. Must have for our climate.

NDTV has a first drive report out.

https://auto.ndtv.com/reviews/2017-h...-drive-1733611

Looks so much better with blackened out headlamps than this one. Really poor design IMO, looks like a car from the last decade.

With the brief time spent with the new Verna, I can confidently say that Hyundai is all set to give headaches to the competition. The new Verna looks dynamic, has multiple class-leading features, comes with powerful and refined engines and offers an automatic transmission with both petrol and diesel engines. There is a significant improvement in the way it handles at high speed too and that shows the effort Hyundai engineers have put in to improve on every possible area reported by the consumers.

Finally, officially confirmed - 6 speed Automatic Transmission. Hope now they offer it in highest variant (both petrol and diesel) with 6 airbags and all other safety features.

Thanks @Ravenavi, what's the new Eco Coating technology? Is it some kind of under chassis coating? I had read this sometime ago and they seem to use them for ship rudders and other parts that are exposed to sea water. Hyundai being a ship builder must have brought this into their cars. If it's similar, Clap.

Safe to assume that the 1.4L engines have been discontinued? Only mentions the 1.6L petrol and diesel in all the information made available till now.

No. It's a coating for odour control inside the air-con.

Wonderful...

Verna gets the following over the Creta

- Sun Roof
- Cruise Control
- LED Tail Lamps
- LED DRL
- Front Ventilated Seats

I wish Hyundai adds these features to the Creta.

That's some world premier. LOL

So just wanted to start the pricing debate all over again. It's so much fun on our forum.

Speculating that it should be cheaper than the Creta, version for version by at least 70-100 k? Given the premium that we pay for SUVs over the sedans? Or under 50k with a lot more features thrown in? 8-14 lakhs?

Awesome RavenAvi. Thanks for the information. Cruise Control is a welcome plus and gives it a plus over the Ciaz that has no cruise control in any version

Unlikely. The table is a comparison against competition and they want to put in their best engine out there. Look at the bhp comparisons - it is there to say the power and torque are streets ahead of Ciaz

It should be cheaper by 100K or so to do well in the market. Hyundai prices the 1.6 gem of a diesel engine very high. It is premium pricing by Hyundai in our country

re: The 2017 Hyundai Verna. Launched at 8 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi

As per some logic of consumer perceptions going on in some other thread, the new Verna should be priced at least 20% below Honda City or else it's dead on arrival

Keeping things sane though, based on the fact that Creta is based on i30 platform which underpins Hyundai Elantra, I feel that we can expect a price which is about 10-12% lower than Creta for model to model.

Ideally it should be priced 20-30k lower than the City at the launch and then they can see where it goes. But I'm sure that Hyundai will definitely price it above the Ciaz.

Given the general public's preference for SUV over sedan, a pricing closer to Creta will definitely make Verna dead on arrival.

Sunroof and Ventilated seats aren't there even in Hyundai's premium SUVs -
Tucson and Santa Fe. Looking at the consistent sales volume of Creta, I would be happy if Hyundai doesn't delete some features from it to further increase the margin.

The list looks impressive. It could very well be a high priced. Looks like the interiors are black, isn't it?
