Jazz is a new design? Are you serious. I am not advocating Maruthi here. But Honda used to be good long back, but not now. Look at their new deisns, Amaze is extension of Brio, Mobilio is an extension of Amaze. One design used in 3 cars. . And Jazz, last time I remembered it looking like City (Air Blown). Moreover, Honda's quality is deteriorating year by year. At least Maruthi is improving the interior quality in their cars.

The Jazz is a global product whereas, its the City which is crafted for some of the developing nations like India, Indonesia etc. So, the resemblance in designs that we notice is the other way round

And yes, the new Jazz has an altogether "new" design. The form factor is MPV-ish, agreed but, there are only a few makers (like Maruti) who christen their new cars with absolutely no resemblance to the previous one that bore that name. Case in point: Zen & Zen Estilo and now, the Baleno! IMO, there should always be a "connection" between a new and outgoing model or, naming them the same doesn't make any sense.

As for the Brio triplets, I honestly think what people get peeved about are the interiors. A lot of manufacturers are basing cars off a single platform to contain costs and there is nothing wrong with that till the overall product comes out well. Overall, the 3 don't look worth the money spent and hence the slump in demand now that the market has responded with some blockbuster launches as well. Till the interiors are sorted out, I don't think there is any reviving these 3.

+1. I still don't like the front grill, something odd about the design there. I hope the S cross-Nexa fiasco especially the 320 DDIS would have hurt the ambitious intents of Maruti and looking forward to honest pricing on this model.

But, I won't buy a Baleno. Defies car buying logic.
That's the point sir, if one is getting all 3 is a single product then....

The overall package which MSIL is giving in Baleno is truly considerable.

Tried and tested refined engine, brilliant performance / Mileage, lovely looking car with lots of gizmos, space utility and comfort.

Above all I am sure it would be competitively which would make it VFM as well.

That ways most of the hatchbacks will look similar to each other. This car is much bigger than Go+. Go plus looks smaller than Swift from behind.

If Maruti price it similar to S-cross then this would be next flop car.
Hope they will not the do the same mistake with the weak engine.

The front three quarters looks great but looks dreary in all other angles. Front and rear view already looks it is couple of years old.

many cars look similar to some other and I just mentioned it!
I never mentioned about the size.
Swift was always known to be similar to a Mini Cooper but was smaller wasn't it

Then I fail to understand the purpose of mentioning it. No offence, but to me your post looked like comparing Datsun Go+ to Baleno which is not an appropriate comparison.

Personally, I am neutral towards Baleno's looks but loved its road presence when I saw a test car on NH8.

No offence taken. I have clearly mentioned that it LOOKS similar. I've also written 'especially tail lamps'. but if you felt I'm comparing the two vehicles in all respects, I can't help it.

re: Next-gen Suzuki Baleno (YRA) unveiled. EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 4.99 lakhs

At the outset, a big hello to all. This is my first post after being a member (though I have been following Team BHP since 2012!)

So the Nexa dealer trainings for Baleno are actually ongoing at a certain luxury establishment in Bangalore where I work in. Must say the way they have arranged the entire training event is pretty neat and impressive. Dealers from all over the country have been invited and the participants have been divided into three batches spread over different dates. The training seemed exhaustive considering the number of meeting spaces they have blocked.

Unfortunately, I had no chance to look at any of the training cars in flesh since the Maruti guys were smart enough to ensure all kinds of security restrictions so the cars were out of sight for. Tried sneaking a peek a few times, but in vain!! They had people guarding the area where the cars were kept even at night.

Do you think 1.3L, 75 Bhp engine is good enough ?

Can't say, but it may be just enough as the car is lighter than Swift. It won't be zippy in my opinion, though the test car was traveling fast.
