the picture of the stalk shows cruise control as well. This is a very good addition. Competition has missed it.

Official website lists it as a standard feature on Highline. Saw it a week ago.

Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

My sisters 1.2 manual Comfortline which was delivered couple of days back.

This is a August build with indicators on ORVM and cooled glove box.

Only annoying part was the MRF tires when I was expecting Apollo's.

Hey, did Comfortline always come with rear wash+wipe, or is that a new feature too? Good that the features are filtering down the variants. Any news about ABS?

I think it did since it wasn't mentioned to us as a new feature.
This version has ABS and front airbags.

Congrats tharian on the new acquisition and probably the first 'Updated Polo" on the forum.

That color looks gorgeous and alongside the other best color, you siblings have the best color-combo !!

I may be wrong VeluM, but I think the Comfortline always came with the Rear wash and wiper.

One of my neighbor has the first gen Polo 1,2 TDI in Comfortline spec and it has the rear Wash/Wipe.

But here is the latest spec sheet of the 'Updated Polo':

P.S - Other than an absolute need for a Highline, Comfortline seems to be a real VFM, considering the fact that most of the former's features can be bought as an after market accessory !!

Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

Is VW's Marketing team fast asleep. They add Cruise Control-Which is first in segment, and even first in a car under 10L, and they just silently introduced it? No marketing, no ad's, not even an official press release

Only folks who follow this thread closely will know it is launched and available.

Have requested Mods to move the related posts to a new thread. Although VW seems to think it is no big deal, I think the addition of cruise control is a big thing.

I think VW should also re-look into the strategy of the 3 pot petrol engine. All other super-mini's have more power and are way more refined. Take the case of Swift, i20 & Jazz.

The polo deserves the TSI, maybe detune it to 85 bhp for the lower models. I am sure there will be many takers for it even if they have to bump up the price by 20K.

True. Actually, no requirement for even the TSI in lower tune. Just remove the turbo and DI and it will be for sure better than the present 3 pot engine. But I guess that engine is being imported .

Having said that , I hadn't driven the 3 cylinder extensively until my sister bought it last week. In city driveability I feel is quite good and I feel it is best suited for within city use . It is the top end that suffers, I am not sure about the mid range. But I enjoyed driving it in city with loads of torque in low rpms.
Coming from a Figo petrol in which I need to rev above 3k rpms for some decent speeds, this was totally different.
But I know for sure when I hit the highway, it is going to be straining to do a decent cruise speed.
