I feel they should not name it Indica. Indica word is now synonymous with cabs and those who are paying a premium over the normal indica would wan't to stay away from the stigma. Indiva?

If this is true then it has already lost the purpose. Centre mounted and angled towards the driver

Better put the instrumentation cluster on left and right as per the market rather than inclined towards a side which would again mean two sets of dashboards

To distinguish it from the 'original' Indica, the new one is going to have the name of an operating system appended to it. I wish they would drop the Indixx name altogether, and stick to their 'new' (though not very original) name, since its an all new model. The launch will be before Diwali time.

I hope this is the 1st driver's car from Tata. All their vehicles have been passenger-oriented vehicles so far.

Ohh well, I thought it was already well known all over the forum. I think I had posted it before....or had I ?

Anyway, the new Indica is going to be called the Indica Vista.

Great pics DI, I got a few Qs for you:

Did you feel that the boot is larger than the current one ? I still see the suspension towers in the boot, but they are probably not as intruding.

How about the pedal positioning ?

Quality overall seems to have improved - rubber beadings, plastics etc.

bye,
ramna

One of my friends at Tata motors told me the same name for the new Indica.

I hope It wont require more RAM (petrol/diesel) to run efficiently.

With the 1.3 GB RAM from Fiat, it would be an efficient performer. Also, sound card has to be from JBL

This is as per the AutoCar description. There must be a adjustor while fixing the center mounted console to change it to either right or left.

Indica Vista - Cute Name

I can live with the Indica stigma.... Vista's stigma is quite something else!
Yes, its bigger and its claimed to be better, but I hope the similarities end there

Not to worry. Many popular European cars from Renaults to Citroens to Toyotas now come with centre-mounted instrument cluster and are generally well accepted.

Closer home, the Chevrolet Spark and the Nissan X-trail also feature centre-mounted meters.

Doesn't the VISTA (compared to New Indica) crash too often? I know many people who switched over to XP (Compared to current Indica) because of this.
