Apart from the nitty bitty parts like the wipers, switch’s, vents, etc.. the mechanical reliability of the Thar is very good. Especially the 2.5 CRDe engine. I’ve seen the engine being trashed and still running beautifully.

Though the nitty bitty parts are the ones which make your daily living easier.

How much would be the approximate cost of installing the MLD system in the older generation Thar?? Thanks in advance.

A better option is to install Manual Differential Lockers from lambda. Will cost ~40k and can be manually engaged and disengaged. Much much better and when locked it is "LOCKED". You just need to know when to engage and disengage.

One such nitty bitty part broke last week, the door unlock knob! I`m guessing it can be swapped without much work \ cost. Not that there is much use in locking the door when the canopy is just a zipper - but it is a matter of habit then.

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

Hello friends, I have a Mahindra Thar 2015 model, their is some noise in the right front tyre, I visited the mechanic and I was informed that the bearing was gone, so replaced it, but still the noise exist.

I wanted to get a second opinion from a trust worthy and tried mechanic, so I would appreciate if you can suggest a good mechanic in or around Indirapuram, Ghaziabad area. Thanks in advance.

Re: 2015 Mahindra Thar Facelift : A Close Look

I am considering a Thar 2017 for purely leisure purpose and with the idea of getting into some casual off-roading in Bangalore.
Being a complete novice when it comes to offroading, do let me know any reliable garages in bangalore to get the car checked for any problems and also, any major things i should look out for.
The vehicle is near electronic city, so any garages there would be great.
