Skoda Octavia gets a new "Style Plus" variant; Anniversary Edition launched

A limited edition is coming up for celebrating 120th anniversary of skoda.
it has paddles, 8 air bags, updated touch screen (same size), start button etc. I have booked the same. Delivery time is not confirmed yet.. I have already ordered a flat bottom steering with paddles, looks like i have to sell it.

Re: Skoda Octavia : Official Review

Skoda launched something like this in EU, http://skoda-auto.cm/en/models/octavia-edition/ it was called the Edition model. It was launched across the range though. If its that, it will mostly come in only one colour and with black interiors. What colour has your dealer confirmed? If they have any other info do post here.

Re: Skoda Octavia : Official Review

This limited edition is news to me. I booked only a week back and is supposed to be registered tomorrow. I will tell them to hold it now. I specifically asked if there was any limited edition was to be released, and they denied. it.

Further, the car which came from the factory from Aurangabad, and which has been alloted to me has a Jan 2015 manufacturing date, i.e, almost 8 months back. Is it normal for a CKD car?

I was told that, VIN number is put on the kit sent from abroad and it takes about 3 months to reach India, and thats why its normal.

Isn't my experience with the Octy scary enough to drive you away from the booking altogether?
No, it's not normal to get an 8 month old manufactured car. Which model have you booked? There is no port in the world from which will take three months to reach India. When I got the car in November 2013, it was manufactured in June 2013.

Re: Skoda Octavia : Official Review

As Adi said 3 to 4 months should be acceptable.
When i booked my laura Vrs in 2012, it was 7 months old and previous year VIN. I got 1.2 L discount on the car at that time.

Just received and attached the new pricelist for Octavia Elegance 120th Anniversary Edition. Additions as already mentioned above are paddle shifts, new HU with reverse camera, stop-start button and 8 (instead of 6) airbags.

All prices Bangalore. Don't collapse after seeing the 20% road tax

Hey,

Are you sure about the new HU with reverse camera because my dealer has not mentioned this feature to me confirmed the others though.

My regular 1.8tsi has already arrived at their yard but I want to deny accepting it and go for this limited edition instead. The price difference of 80k seems worth it. Hope they do not create an issue. Also I hope they don't have some condition of this edition being available only in specific colours.

Hi, these were told to me on the phone casually because the SA I was interacting with did not have the official Skoda release documents with him. He has promised to let me know ASAP. He WAS pretty sure about the reversing camera though - that will need a upgraded HU as the existing one does not support video at all.

Re: Skoda Octavia : Official Review

The Anniversary Edition does not have black interiors. Its the normal beige interiors with additions of these features. I have changed my booking to this.

Re: Skoda Octavia : Official Review

Does the anniversary edition have a completely new head unit?

is it possible to get that reverse camera attached to an elegance version?

Re: Skoda Octavia : Official Review

Skoda India Website is updated with the new variant. Its called the Style Plus.
Has additional features as mentioned:

1) Side Airbags at rear.
2) KESSY (Keyless Entry/Exit with Engine Start-Stop button).
3) Smart Link for mobile phone connections. Not sure if it will support Apple Car Play.
4) Paddle Shifts on steering wheel.
5) Rear View Camera with display on the Head Unit.

http://www.skoda-auto.co.in/models/octavia/Features/

Price difference between the Elegance and Style Plus variant is approx. INR 72000 for both, the 1.8 TSI and the 2.0 TDI.

This means that this special Edition Octavia, is only 3.5 Lacs cheaper than the Superb! Superb misses out on Smart Link and Rear View Camera though.

Re: Skoda Octavia : Official Review

That display looks like it's larger than the current bolero's! Has anyone actually seen the car physically?

I cant help but wonder if there is some way to replace my system with the new one and get the reverse camera+smartlink
