Mahindra Scorpio - Recall for Oil Filter?

Hi All.

I received a call today from Mahindra asking to take my Vehicle to nearest Mahindra Service Center for a "Free Upgrade" of the Oil Filter.
My Vehicle is less than 2 months old.
The tone and language sounded very much like a "Recall" (since I have not raised any complaint related to anything).

Anyone else getting similar calls?
I tried searching online about any official recalls, but no news found.

I am keen on finding out why they are replacing Oil Filter, and what kind of risks Vehicles & Users are being exposed.

Thank you.

Re: Mahindra Scorpio - Recall for Oil Filter?

Purolator brand?

Not so far back, Maruti had run a silent recall for oil filters too - related thread.

Perhaps, some filters from this batch started to leak?

Re: Mahindra Scorpio - Recall for Oil Filter?

Learnt from Service Engineer that this replacement is due to a defective O-Ring.
Defective O-Rings lead to leaks, so you are probably right.

I am unaware of Brand of Oil Filter used in the new Scorpio.

Not sure how it risks Vehicle or User.
