Here it comes. OK, minus the fantastic boots that Samurai's car has. The rear remains the same for both.

And this is my July 2006 VXi with spoiler and white turn-signal lenses. The 14-inch alloys and rubber are as supplied by Maruti.

Hmm ... this sedan version of the Suzuki SX-4 doesn't look great, but it shows that it is at least a modern current era design, compared to the older Baleno we now have here. Though the Autocar India article mentions that Maruti can use the 2.0L engine (producing more than 140 bhp), I really doubt that Maruti would do this ..... they can't price the car under Rs. 7 lakh as mentioned in the article then - this is the same reason why the brand new 1.5L engine was not provided in the Indian Swift - the same old Esteem's 1.3L engine was put into it. Plus, the digital temperature display etc at the centre of the top of the dashboard was not provided in the Indian Swift - again Maruti's silly cost cutting. Why can't they provide at least one international model complete with all features ?? Thank god we at least get the option of dual front airbags and ABS !!

I do hope Maruti uses the newer 1.6L engine which produces upwards of 100 bhp for the new Baleno, like the article says. Carrying over the current Baleno's 94 bhp 1.6L engine would be really silly in a brand new car .... it would probably even be underpowered due to this.

I guess we can only wait and watch .... and meanwhile hope that the guys at Maruti would do a better job with this new Baleno compared to the Swift !!

In that case, where are the pics of the new baleno for comparison.

from what I read, it more seems like current baleno owners are showing off their beaties. No offenses to anybody here.

In India we are not aware of 5-6 generations. We have current Baleno and then the proposed new Baleno. And we are comparing between the two.

When I am discussing any topic, I don't wear my mod cap. It is obvious that the thread is very much in topic, although you are failing to see it. The thread is titled new Baleno and discussion is about the difference between the old and new model all along. Many members including me are showing off our current Balenos to contradict members who are claiming the new one looks better. So we are having a healthy discussion here, very much in topic, whether a mod says it or not.

Now I am wearing the mod cap, notice the bold letter. If you have nothing to say about the topic, then you can keep quiet. This kind of disrupting is neither appreciated nor will be tolerated. - Mod Team

Coming back to the topic.. Does anyone notice how the front window pane just blends in nicely, in case of the Suzuki SX4. But in the case of new Baleno, it appears as if it has been tacked on, as an after-thought.
