Tata, why is dual tone roof not available in XZ+ too? Whats the point of adding a + and then an additional optional variant for dual tone roof.

I'm trying to keep my calm after booking and wait for official releases from Tata, but couldn't resist complaining about this.

If dual tone roof is going to be an optional thing, then they better offer it for all variants, otherwise its a flawed variant strategy.

With the leaking of some variant info, overall dimensions and speculation of a 7L price, I definitely feel the Nexon is going to be priced much lower on launch. Wasn't the Ecosport priced at sub 6 lakh starting price ? I don't see why the Nexon should also start at similar levels. To me, size wise, this looks half a size smaller than the Ecosport/Brezza. There is a big market out there covering compact sedans and premium hatches which the Nexon would go after with the top variants going against Brezza/Ecosport mid variants. Going head on with these cars price wise may not yield good results not because it's Tata Vs others but more for what this car actually is - size does matter here. Also agree with SMJET comment about car companies possibly using media to "plant" pricing rumours to then later surprise the market with a lower launch price.

After reading this thread about display vehicles being available in different places, thought to call up the local dealership here in Raipur (Bhasin Motors).

As luck would have it, had a comparatively light day in office and the car was available as well! Yippeee!

Just picked up the car keys and went to check out the vehicle. Have to say I came out thoroughly impressed with the car. As soon as you sit in, you have that feel good factor that is becoming more and more evident with newer age tata products.

Got a chance to start the engine as well and at idle was very very impressed with the NVH levels inside the car.

The spare wheel is a full sized spare wheel but not an alloy. The alloys themselves look smashing in person. The car seeks attention as soon as you go near it.

All the contact points in the car had good quality materials used with the fabric on the door pads very comfortable.

The touchscreen as well was good enough (in terms of response) and the sound quality was amazing (as expected)

Legroom was decent even with the driver seat set to my height. My height for reference is about 178 cms and I had set it at a fairly relaxed position. The headroom at the front with driver's seat set to its highest position is tight, but then that would be used by shorter drivers so not an issue.

Anyway, enough talking, time for some pictures ! Enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them and experiencing the car 👍🏻

The car seems surprisingly short when you come near it, but the headroom inside is surprisingly good. Left me a little confused for a while 😝

You can only appreciate the size of the glovebox in person believe me! After watching all the reviews online was still surprised!

Decent boot with nice wide loading bay.

You can still find references to its code-name Osprey at many places in the car.

Came out impressed ! Very impressed indeed. Could not try the activity key since they haven't received it yet as per the sales advisor (don't believe it though)

The Nexon is likely to be offered in XE (base trim) followed by XM, XT and XZ+ (top variant). Dual front airbags and ABS with corner stability control will be standard across all variants.

Why there are no mud flaps in any of the media drive/display car? Nexon looks incomplete without the same due to odd rear bumper design. I do not remember seeing any picture with mudflaps.

This just became my favorite color. It looks smashing! God, when would I get over my love for black (or blackish)!!

Tata has just rekindled the fire in this thread. I'm looking forward to treat myself this festive season with one of the upcoming beauties, tough choice between Tata Nexon and the Ecosport Facelift. I may also look at the S-Cross, but only if it comes in the 1.6D avatar, chances of which look bleak at this moment. It's going to be a tough decision with some very competent products to chose between! Life is tough.

If I recall correctly, you'd booked the red version with a dual tone roof. In my eyes, that combination looked better than the blue that they seemed to be demo-ing. However, with the new colours slowly being revealed, is your choice under any sort of pressure ?

On a different note, with the Compass review done and dusted, we are now primed for the Team-Bhp Nexon review. I think this worked out well.

This looks like the same as what they've on the Storme. It was called 'Astern Black', at least until last year but recently got to know (from the Storme review thread) that it is now being referred to as 'Sky Grey'.

Whatever the name, looks SMASHING in this shade!!
