re: The Tata Nexon, now launched at Rs. 5.85 lakhs

I did say the Zest is posting a sale of about 2000 units a month. That's not high, but it's not a flop either considering the fact that other models from Tata are not generating any worthy of note.

Tata's Nexon caught testing again and again. Now seen at the outskirts of Pune.

Quote:
evident from the close spy shot are Tata's trademark honeycomb grille with the unique mesh pattern, the protruding headlight, the inset foglamp housing, the distinct window line and the two-tone paint job. Also visible is the stylish alloy wheel and plastic cladding over the wheel arches for that quintessential crossover touch. The rear has evoked mixed emotions so far

I love the design of these alloys. It is good that they are not deviating from the concept they showcased in Autoexpo. This car already left good impression with it's interiors.
I hope Tata Motors lauch Nexon before tiago based sedan.
I feel they are already late to copact SUV market but a good product can always find buyers. If they can price it well, I am sure it can do well.

I have been planning to upgrade my Santro for some time now. I have decided to wait till Nexon's launch. I really wish to have Nexon as my new ride by next year end.

The last picture shows the similarity between the rear of the Vista and the Nexon, the overall body shape and the overall raised stance. But I like the design a lot overall. Ability to customize exterior and interior bits should stand out as another USP apart from the design.

Agree, the design language is similar to the Vista. Overall it looks more cross overish like the Scross than a compact SUV. The front A Pillar starting from above the Front wheel well is another reason why it does not get that proper SUVish feel.

A close, fully-detailed shot of the Nexon production version's tail light sections has been revealed in a new spyshot by an IAB reader.

Quote:
It may be heavily wrapped with the usual prototype camouflage, but noticeable elements look identical to the model unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016, which include the small angular taillamps with LED-powered V-shaped position lights, registration plate area in the bumper, trapezoidal rear foglamp, roof spoiler, and a sharply raked windscreen.

I've spotted it a day before yesterday on busy streets of Pune.
But could not take the pic as I was alone on my bike.
It has intersting LED guides in tail lamp as well as LED DRL running below projector headlights.
Front end looked more menacing with those production spec lights.
Also the central console has floating display for media nav and instrumentation cluster was almost identical to that of Tiago.

Loved it at first sight.
Though it's silhouette looked bit smaller

Spotted on the streets of Pune by a Carwale reader.

The latest test mule is likely to be top-spec version as it gets five-spoke 16-inch alloy wheels in silver finish unlike the older test mules which were seen with steel rims. The fresh image also indicates on the a dash of chrome being offered on door sills to give it a stylish appeal. The vehicle also gets plastic cladding on the side and wheel arches which flow all the way to rear under the bumper for a sporty look. The compact SUV gets a floating roofline which uplifts the rear section. The small rear window with blackened corners enhances its overall appeal.

The Tata Nexon on test was noted to possess a high ground clearance. Exteriors we seen sporting a mesh grille, new bumper design, circular headlamps, customization options for body kit and contrasting color options for body and roof.

A very poor report from Rushlane! They say Nexon will go against Ignis - What a bull! They also say that the petrol engine will generate 85 bhp while diesel, around 100, both options mated to 5 speed gearbox; all of which are wrong. Both engine options are speculated to generate 110 PS and mated to 6 speed manual transmissions from the other reports.

They also speculate that the price will be between 5-8L which is Ignis territory, Nexon should have prices in the Brezza vicinity. Add to it, pics of the test mules caught in Ladakh are added to the new lot too.

re: The Tata Nexon, now launched at Rs. 5.85 lakhs

Picture was taken from my swift (by my wife on request,as i was driving) and it sure does have road presence. For comparison sake i stopped my swift immediately at a less traffic spot and tried to have a look at it(swift) in the same angle as i saw the Nexon. And my mind confirmed that yes the nexon seems bigger in person than in pictures and the swift indeed felt smaller.

re: The Tata Nexon, now launched at Rs. 5.85 lakhs

Come On Tata.

Bring this one next after Hexa by March 2017. There are lot of interested people like me who are waiting for this to be launched.

Little did I know that I would wait till this far when Nexon concept was shown in 2014. But here I was still waiting for an upgrade to my humble WagonR which has now clocked 80K.

Today I had to drive 5 people around in the city and I'm struggling to get my WagonR going with its lack of power and cramped space for five and my wife is onto me asking on when I'm going to go for a new car. They want me to go for SCross (my second option) if Nexon fails to meet my expectations.

I am not very sure Nexon will be a comfortable 5-seater. Rear glass area already appears cramped and totally unlike Tata. I remember seeing Auto Expo videos and rear bench is sculpted to seat two rather than being a flat one. Though they may make changes for the production version but I am guessing Nexon is intended to be more of desirable product rather than a practical one.
