The new price of Jag XE is now 34.xx (that's a whopping 4 lacs price cut) lacs post gst. Not so long ago, the same car retailed at more than 40 lacs ex showroom.

Do we expect BMW, which has retailed at lower than Jag prices to now be priced even lower? Imagine the 10 lacs discounts ppl have reported getting?
And the OTR price for luxury marques may now be lower than 30 lacs after many many years.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor is the first to report a steep decline in June 2017 sales numbers, due to GST.
I think Toyota's price increase of last month should be reported to profiteering committee for GST. They were the only manufacturer which increased prices in May & after GST benefits these will be essentially close to pre-may prices. They are aware of the buying capacities of customers and went ahead with an increase to maximise their profits. Wonder what's all extra they use on SUV/MUV's that got costly and all other sedans there is no change.

LAN Rover have also announced the complete post GST prices.
Yes, here's complete list.

Re: GST effect on car prices?

I thought post GST ex showroom price for a car model across the country would be the same. Is that not the case? I was looking at the updated price for Baleno Zeta CVT on the Nexa website and see that prices vary between Chennai, Delhi and Bengaluru.

Re: GST effect on car prices?

The price decrease in CIAZ is disappointing. I thought the non hybrid versions should have seen a 8 percent decrease at the least, as it is over 4m.

I could not find any information regarding this topic. It appears that this was not discussed in the meeting yesterday. So, we would need to wait for the next meeting.

This is because the GST legislation which was brought in last year empowers both Central and State government to continue levying excise duty, service tax and VAT till September 16, 2017.

This is one of the reasons why car manufacturers have not released a blanket pricing for all their models. They need to work on pricing for each of their models for each state.

The other possibility is that manufacturers are adding in handling and transportation charges before shipping the car.

But net-net unlike pre GST, the price has fallen significantly. If you look at Baleno Delta CVT, pre GST price in Mumbai was 7.40lacs. Currently the GST price for Mumbai and Delhi market is 7.02 lacs and 7.05 lacs respectively which is negligible.

So I will end up saving at least 40k on-road for this model. In a way GST is something to cheer for Mumbaikars planning to buy a new car. Can't wait to see the impact on SUVs

This translates to an almost 2.5L on the top Z Auto variant. Its now 23.5L odd in Navi Mumbai vs 26L some time back.

Apart from the price hike on month of May, The GST pricing also looks suspicious. 2.1L flat reduction on all Fortuner models. How come the price reduction is same across all models, while the ex-showroom price is different

This is not so, pls check the Toyota's official site for the exact prices.
As for Innova too, the price reduction is 98k-1.36k depending upon model and variant.

Does someone have any solid info on Hyundai Creta prices post GST? In Kerala, dealers were offering 67k off on OTR prices towards the end of June, saying there will be a slash of that much post GST!

Creta should be cheaper by atleast 70000 ex showroom so you save on that plus insurance and registration too.
