That's too expensive! In the middle east, Tucson AT retails for around ~ 10L and even then doesn't find too many buyers.

So 27 lakhs in Delhi will be close to 28.5 -29 lakhs OTR Bangalore. Except for the 180 ps engine there is not much to differentiate this SUV from the Creta or for that matter their Elite. It would make sense to add a few more lakhs and buy the Endevour on one side and save a few more lakhs and buy the Creta on the other. Wonder how Hyundai will wriggle out of this ?

There are gonna find customers. Someone like my friend, Who had xuv, has T fort already, doesn't want endeavour because he has headroom issues inside the car.

I am sure there are many people in India who have specific requirements.

The petrol engine felt lively due to the lightweight nature of the car. Overall, it felt like Hyundai was ticking as many boxes as possible on feature checklists rather than trying to build a holistic high quality product. Somewhat like an Oneplus phone rather than an iphone😊
I checked out the car today in the dealership and the doors did not feel "wafer thin". I think We go by image a lot - iPhone vis one plus is a classic example. Hyundai has been improving a lot and giving fantastic all round products since some time now - i20, grand i10, creta etc. Tucson does not have a real competitor in the cross over segment in expectedt price range.

re: The 2016 Hyundai Tucson. EDIT: Launched

27 Lakhs OTR Delhi is too expensive in my opinion. As someone was mentioning before, if the ex-showroom prices cross 20 lakh mark even for the highest variant, the car would be dead on arrival IMHO.

Please don't get me wrong. I myself am a Hyundai fan for the kind of quality and features they offer, and we had used Accent, Old Verna and I'm currently using the I20 Elite and Fluidic Verna. I have recently finalized XUV 500 FWD AT as a replacement for Fluidic Verna, but wanted to wait for this Tucson launch. I would consider Tucson if there is not much difference between the two. Else - Hello XUV!!
More Metal and value for money.

New Hyundai Tucson - India launch around the corner?

The 30 lakh 5 seater urban SUV is non existent in India. People would spend a few lakhs and opt for the T-fort or an Endeavour for sure, especially Considering that both of these are new models as well. Just look at the Honda CR-V, had a following in India but just not selling now due to the high price tag, and may be a lack diesel motor is also a reason but I just think the market is not ready for these high sticker 5 seater Urban SUVs.

re: The 2016 Hyundai Tucson. EDIT: Launched

I think some people who are opting for the Crysta and D segment top variants, may go for this car who prefer a macho SUV stance over the classic sedan looks or who don't mind losing the last row of seats.

re: The 2016 Hyundai Tucson. EDIT: Launched

All speculation will come to rest at 12pm today when they reveal the prices and variants which everyone on Team BHP is already aware of by now. So there won't be any shock surprises for sure.

- The Creta will continue its run as it is undisputed in the 1.6L category with good fit and finish. Probably will sell more to rebound customers.
- The XUV can breathe easy as it is not invading into its territory. Sales may even increase as it becomes more VFM after this launch.
- The CRV is irrelevant till they launch the face lift and diesel variants
- The Fortuner, Endeavour and Crysta are for a different set of people with need for 7 seats and lot of BHP. Unlikely they will be swayed by this launch
- The X1, Q3, GLA segment makes no difference to this

All in all, it is going to appeal to people who are ready to pay 10L more than the Creta just for that extra power, much better interiors, features and space. It is like buying a Creta SX++(O) variant.

re: The 2016 Hyundai Tucson. EDIT: Launched

3rd Gen Tucson is backed up by Hyundai's excellent:
3 yrs unlimited kms warranty
3 yrs 30000 kms free service & special customer care
They are targetting the young, style consccious & upwardly mobile customers to lap up this vehicle
Got 6 airrbags, ESC, Uphill & Downhill Assist
It seems features laden inside out to make the driver/ pasenger feel special comfortable. Though these may price point can be the matter of tipping scales
& the Rs 25 Lakhs pricing is on a higher side IMO.

Plus there should have been GLS Manual variants as well.

RIP Honda CR-V. I wonder if they will be able to sell a single unit of the car after the launch of Tucson; fantastic pricing by Hyundai! It remains to be seen if it can impact the Endeavor and Trailblazer. I doubt it would rattle the new Toyota Fortuner as this one is a 5 seater.
