This is indeed very intriguing. An error or a change of heart by Delhi RTO guys? With the ever so often policy flip flops by the Govt, coupled with the highly intelligent verdicts of the Honble NGT, one really can never be sure.

You have a Delhi registered car which has a valid RC for 10 years, so you can legally use the car for 10 years.
15 years would have been possible had you registered your new car in NCR ie Noida, Fbd, Ggn Gzb.

In entire NCR region, the registration for diesel cars is valid for 10 years only, irrespective of what is written on the RC. I have confirmed this while procuring vehicles for various units of a company located across NCR. The list includes Faridabad, Gurgaon, Tapukera, Bhiwadi and Greater Noida.

Strange, why would government issue a legal document (read RC) for 15 years when they owner can only use it for 10 years. Delhi govt issues same thing for 10 years.
A little off the topic, diesel cabs are banned in Delhi however they are still plying on Noida roads. Do I'm assuming the NCR registered diesel vehicles would be ok to be used for 15 years.

Sir the ban has not been imposed by the government but rather NGT which has statutory powers. The government can over rule either by passing a law in the Parliament or appeal against it in courts of appropriate jurisdiction.

As for diesel cabs in Noida they might be operating under AIT permit, which were granted relief by the court till their permits expire. All the more, the enforcement of vehicular rules is totally non existent in Noida.
