The Global next Gen Vento will get the 1.4 TSI. Now I am inclined to think that the 2018 Vento for India will have the 1.4TSI variant.

Demystifying the myths:
1. HL Plus will come with same engine - so it is 1.2L TSI motor.
2. It will have 15" alloys
3. Pricing of TSI: 12.66 Lacs & TDI: 14.10 Lacs (both are ex-showroom Mumbai)

Confirmed list of changes:
1. LED Headlamps with DRLs
2. Reversing Camera display on RCD 330G (like Ameo)
3. Slight change in exhaust tip (appears to be more chrome)
4. No headlight leveling control (this means probably it will have auto leveling)

Well, folks who prefer bling over power

Here I would beg to differ. Ameo(or for that matter any sub 4m 'sedan') doesnt really make the cut for everyone looking for a sedan owing to its looks(subjective) and cramped rear. For them the sedan segment starts from C2(City,Ciaz, Vento,Rapid, Linea and so on etc)

The pricing of Gasoline HL @ 12.5 Lac is competitive if not great. The car should sell in good numbers. The changes are good and visible and will attract many who are looking for a proper sedan with decent engine specs, which is somehow missing these days.

In terms of good petrol engine and proper 4+ meter sedans, we are only left with Rapid, Vento, Linea (with turbo charged motors) and City (with iVTEC), no other petrol sedan is available with reasonably powerful engine in Petrol Avatar. Ciaz Petrol cannot make a cut here.
1.4L will jack the price at least by a lac if not more, you are hitting entry level Elantara at that pricing. It comes to 13.66 lacs ex Showroom if i add the 1 lac to 12.66, pushing the OTR to close to 17 lacs. It will not get many takers.

If you are looking at a performance Gain all it takes is ECU remap, the 1.2 L can easily hit the 125-130 Bhp with around 220 nm Torque. It gives a lot of added fun to driving the car.

Vento HL is only missing Sunroof and auto headlamps, expect a Vento SHL(Super High Line) Soon

80K premium just to get the fancy lights and a reverse parking camera, well i guess it won't get too many buyers, specially seeing how Vento has continued without a major exterior overhaul.

15 lakhs for a 7 year old C2 segment car!!! Damn..

The top variant (MT) of Chevy Cruze is only 13.95 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi. It is a segment above this and has many more features. The Chevy badge is the only thing that is against it.

But considering how prices of all cars are shooting up, VW pricing is justifiable. The upcoming City ZX is going to be above 15 lakhs for sure.

This is just a preview of things to come in 2018. The Next GEN Vento will be a premium offering and with 1.4TSI would land in Jetta's space!

Is it wise to go for Vento 2017 or wait for the facelift with 16" wheels?
MQB A0 based 2018 Vento has also been seen testing in Brazil, any idea when will it launch in India? http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/intern...ed-brazil.html

So its like Polo range starts from the 1.2L 3 cyl petrol(5L) and goes all the way via GT to the GTI(26L).

And Vento series all the way from 1.6L petrol(8L) to 1.2TSI(~13L) and will continue to 1.4TSI series(15L?) followed by 1.8TSI(20L?)

Polo and Vento only in different shapes(almost) and sizes for India for another few years to come?

Will Vento 1.4 TSI have the build quality as the Jetta?

It is a bit like Ford making Figo Aspire just for India. No offence meant to anyone here.

Will VW give us a Vento with the assurance of a Jetta Build?

Regards

I think it is a wrong expectation to have. Jetta costs nearly 80% more than Vento. I already feel assured if I were to compare current Vento body build with other C2 segment cars(E.g. Ciaz in particular, and City/Verna to a certain extent). Further, there is no insurance to believe and drive at illegal speeds just because 1.4 TSI allows you to do so compared to 1.2 TSI. It is not a Vento on steroids.

Let me explain: Why can a Vento not have the same body gauge or thickness as a Jetta?

Or better yet does a Vento stack up against a linea in the build?

Hi,

Has anyone checked if these LED headlights are available as spare parts with the VW dealership and what would be indicative cost for a pair.

Regards.

Hi, the Mumbai downtown vw says no such kit will be available.

Also the reversing camera are not dynamic (in the sense that the guide lines turn when your car is turning) but simply show the static green lines. If I remember right the Ciaz has dynamic guidelines.
