Re: Mahindra @ Auto Expo 2016

Mahindra earns the title of "designer of UGLIEST vehicles" in the Indian market.

The THAR has been modified by a la Dilip chabria fan boy.

By seeing their vehicles on display, I can easily say Mahindra is giving competition to Chinese car designers!

Why this clone of X6 has only 1 door on the RHS and 2 doors on the LHD?

Such designs are rare, but not unheard of !

Hyundai Veloster has used this design for quite sometime now.

Re: Mahindra @ Auto Expo 2016

What infatuation Mahindra has with the door handles and the AC vents of the XUV 5 Oh Oh and the Aero?

Oh I forgot to mention the over done front grille and bumper!

Re: Mahindra @ Auto Expo 2016

During the first 2 business days had a great chance to meet up with Mahindra design/NPD members. This is one incredible bunch of talented youngsters. But I can confirm what this board thinks - A DC resides deep inside each of these youngsters!

But apparently there is also this realisation among certain sober sections that things needs to be toned down. Expect more cutting edge technology but less bling in future. They had a very tastefully modified SUV and gauging by comments may put that in market.

It was also a proud moment to see products made by my company in both TATA and Mahindra vehicles at the expo. Truly Make in India experience.

Last expo, Mahindra showcased its XUV hybrid along with talks of launching it soon. Is there no hybrid tech on display this time?

Re: Mahindra @ Auto Expo 2016

With the serious looks on Mahindra's face, could someone please add a tag line to the photo?

"TATA already snatched Behram from us, and now they are designing cars better than us"?

Re: Mahindra @ Auto Expo 2016

I am rather disappointed to see no news from Auto Expo 2016 regarding the Mahindra Quanto (Canto?) relaunch which I thought was scheduled for this year's show. Does anyone know if this is still going ahead?

Re: Mahindra @ Auto Expo 2016

Seems like Mahindras had exhausted all their ammunition just before the Auto Expo itself. Had they launched the KUV100 in the Auto Expo, there would have been a lot of buzz around their stalls.

The Aero calls for a second look mainly due to the badge it wears read XUV, however stand alone it seems to be a promising concept. Other wise the Tivoli seems to be another good practical mini SUV that should do well if priced well in India, else forget it.

I saw a TUV 300 with an "Endurance" kit in the auto expo. It definitely bolstered the look of the TUV. Costs about 1.5-2 lakhs extra, if i recall correctly. Attached a few clicks

Re: Mahindra @ Auto Expo 2016

Interesting that they are contemplating a 4 door coupe that has the dimensions of a XUV! If this is out in the market, surely there will be some takers, and probably Mahindra can move further in the brice bracket, and sell cars at 25L. (Already they are selling XUV AWD AT, their top most trim at around 17.5L).
After all, people do want very comfortable cars, with large interior space and huge luggage space. People would actually like, if the car is a sedan, but with the characteristics of an SUV (Height, GC etc).

Voyager was a breadbox.
The XUV aero (and the veloster) are good looking vehicles IMO.
