Brezza wins national super league championship.

This is a super picture, imo

Maruti Vitara Brezza with 1.0L Boosterjet to launch this Diwali

Autocar India reports that Maruti will be launching a petrol variant of the Maruti Vitara Brezza this Diwali, which will be powered by the new 1.0-liter Boosterjet engine from the Baleno RS.

Quote:

This week, IAB reported that the 1.2L K-Series engine was a weak possibly as it would feel underpowered in the Vitara Brezza, according to our source.

Given that a Vitara Brezza with a 1.4-liter engine would remove the tax benefits of a sub-4m SUV, Autocar India believes that Maruti will plant the smaller 1.0-liter Boosterjet engine in the Vitara Brezza.

Although power output figures haven't been divulged, the 1.0L engine produces 110 PS and 170 Nm in the JDM-spec and Euro-spec Suzuki Baleno that is exported from India. It is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Brezza is offered only with the 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine for now.

At what price point can we expect the Vitara Brezza with the 1.0L Boosterjet Petrol Engine?

There is carpet like material in the wheel wells. Will this cope up with monsoons and all the dirt that is thrown by the tires ? Will it require changing in future ?

Even After doing a TD of Vitara Brezza I have not been able to understand if I should go ahead and take delivery of Diesel car or should I wait for Petrol Boosterjet.
somebody pls help me out, my situation is like this
1. Driven Vitara brezza for some 2-3 Km but I felt good. power or underpowered I don't know but felt good and I like it.
2. Car has a decent sized boot and car is small and easy to drive around even in tight and winding roads.

My only problem, it is a diesel and I am a bit worried about the noise level and also i have never owned a diesel car before.
Question is should I wait for petrol car and loose an early mover advantage of owning and driving a new car now. can someone who has driven similar cars in petrol and diesel mode throw some light ?
I am all ears.

Test drove the Brezza just now, initial impressions:

Likes:
  1. Fun to drive, brought a continuous smile throughout the drive.
  2. Great amount of space in rear seats.
  3. Music system was decent
  4. Road noise was controlled
  5. Front seats were very comfortable and supportive
  6. Could see hood line while driving, don't know why I liked it though.:D

Dislikes:
  1. Steering feel was not spot on, but liveable
  2. Steering wheels was too thin to hold. Leather after market cover is must for me.
  3. Absence of rear AC vents
  4. Rear seats, though comfortable, could have bit more incline.
  5. Turbo lag.

I've tried calling up 4-5 dealers in Chennai and none of them have the Brezza in display nor available for a test drive. Looks like Chennai didn't get it yet.

Below are the launch dates mentioned by a few Dealers in Chennai:

Khivraj, Anna Salai (Gemini) - 22nd March
Kapico Kilpauk - 25th March
Rajalakshmi Motors, RK Salai - 23rd March
Cars India, Nandanam - Didn't pick up the phone
Popular Vehicles, Anna Nagar - 22nd March

I might take a spin next week end.

Had a look at Vitara Brezza at Amar Motors Today.
Here is what I could observe :

1) Driver's seat is nice and comfy, I am having a heavy build.
2) View from driver's seat and front co-passenger seat is such that bonnet is visible. Nice touch, very practical.
3) All wheel-well have cladding, which should mean less road noise.
4) Boot is practical, not very deep from loading sill which is good. In case of Swift, the loading lip is high and boot is quite deep from loading sill towards floor. this means adjusting luggage items is difficult in Swift. In case of Vitara Brezza, boot floor from loading sill is hardly and inch or so deep.
5) Rear seat is also comfortable. Reasonably decent under-thigh support. Seat Height to floor ratio makes it very comfortable, more than Swift. Width is surprisingly good.
6) Switches of power windows are borrowed from Swift, but feel a bit better to operate.
7) The bonnet height and overall height of Vitara Brezza is very good and feels like SUV atleast. Better than S-Cross. S-Cross is going to have a tough life ahead IMO after launch of Brezza.
8) Ingress and Egress height makes Vitara Brezza very comfortable. Good for elderly and those with a bad back.
9) Glove box could have been larger. The variant at display was VDi, and it had a compartment with a lid above glove box, just like in Wagon R. Practical.
10) ORVM are from Swift. Straight lift.
11) The ORVM electrical adjustment is not on door pad, but below driver A/C vent along with parking sensor switch. And the design is similar to what was offered in Baleno 1.6 ( first generation Baleno ).
12) Instrument console is small, the dials specially. After being used to Swift, they seem to be a touch too small. My feedback was similar for Ford Figo and Aspire instrument console.
13) Fit and Finish, panel gaps were consistent. More in tune with S-cross than Swift/Dzire.
14) Rear floor has a slight hump in the center.
15) Internal door opening handles felt worse than Swift.

Apologies for not so good image quality. All images are taken from my phone which is Redmi 1S. Lighting conditions weren't most optimum either!

Mods : I reached the maximum limit of 30 images in previous post, hence this new one.
Continuing with a few more images.

In Maruti showrooms in bangalore, Vitara Brezza is displayed in Bimal, Pratham, Sagar & in a new dealer Varun Motors
Not yet in Mandovi, Garuda & Kalyani
Display cars across the above outlets are zdi+ Red with black dual tone

Test drive is available only in Bimal which has got a second brezza (fiery yellow)

Just received an email from my dealer Thanking me for the booking and informing me about the waiting period of 6-8 weeks already.

This is when I made the booking on the 1st official day of booking opening as the noida dealer was not accepting underhanded bookings.

Come to think about it, Maruti dealers are going to black market the Brezza from next month onwards and make hay..

Two messages in the past 1 hour from Bangalore Maruti dealer

I didn't book with Bimal. I called their Banashankari showroom based on your post about the availability of the display car. I got invited for the breakfast too.lol:

And you are right. Mandovi, with whom I booked, hasn't got a car. They said they'll get it next week, on Monday or Tuesday. Even Bimal said the TD will be available only next week.

What's that in pic one. Is it a Magnetti Marelli ECU? But Maruti uses Bosch ones right.

Does Bimal Banashankari (near Seetha Circle) have a display car?
