Hoping the modern car is the point of discussion in a modern time when the Bank interest rates are dipping to half they were a decade ago. (and still dropping!)
The tail pipe emission described is of the Ambassdors and Indica's, we've come long way ahead. The modern Diesel (Maruti incl) engines are EuroIV/V compliant or compliant ready . It is our mindset that Diesel's are heavy polluting clunkers that forms this opinion. (a 530d? or Ingenium?)

Never the less emission standards and safety standards is the need of the hour. The high insurance and tax cost can be the factors used to phase out aged both Petrol and Diesel vehicles. When the world emission and safety standards are improving in leaps and bounds ,especially with our tag of world's highest accident rate, it is imminent that the government will have to force the consumer to phase out 10/15 year old vehicles, may it be Petrol and Diesel.

So enjoy the mid-range torque and the miles while you can at a lower cost before the range anxiety and crude resurgence gets the best of you! Enjoy the Brezza miles.

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza @ Auto Expo 2016

Anyone got anything new about booking dates etc? My fellow here has told me that display vehicles are expected only by month end. A couple of snaps from training session and I was super excited to see this on Whatsapp only to be told that they're from training session.

Is it after considering the impact of recent plant shutdown or there was no impact on Brezza production?

Looks like exact details on the variants are out.
The ZDI+ if priced attractively will get a lot of buyers.

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza @ Auto Expo 2016

Descriptive details of the variants

There will be six trims of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza - LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi and ZDi+ (everyone knows this by now).
The details of each variant are listed below:

Maruti Vitara Brezza LDi

The base trim or LDi as we know it will have twin pod headlamps with the turn indicators on the bumper and will get 15-inch steel wheels. There will also be an 'SUV body kit' which we believe is Maruti-speak for side cladding. Front power windows, a parcel tray, manual AC, tilt steering, manual day/night IRVM, speed sensitive door locks, Bluetooth-enabled music system and a driver foot rest will be offered. Driver airbag will be standard across the range.

Maruti Vitara Brezza LDi (O)

This trim gets all the features from the LDi and also brings in a front seat belt pretensioner, a passenger airbag and ABS with EBD.

Maruti Vitara Brezza VDi

Blacked out floating A,B and C pillars, front-rear black skid plates, black roof rails, full wheel cover and body-coloured door handles are the features which distinguish the VDi from the LDi. Maruti is also offering keyless entry, a gear shift indicator, rear power windows, driver-side seat back hook which can carry loads up to 3kg, seat back pockets, passenger vanity mirror, rear seat headrests, fabric insert on door and fabric roof lining. Additionally, an electromagnetic tail gate and security alarm are also available.

Maruti Vitara Brezza Variants

Maruti Vitara Brezza VDi (O)

The O trim is usually the safety options pack that Maruti now offers for almost its entire range of cars in India. This one brings in the same safety features like the LDi (O) - passenger airbag and ABS with EBD.

Maruti Vitara Brezza ZDi

Bigger 215/60 R16 tyres on alloy wheels, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, front fog lamps, chrome front grille, gunmetal grey roof rails, front and rear silver skid plates. The cabin gets auto AC, a piano-black centre console with side louvre rings, 60:40 split rear seats, driver-side seat height adjuster, steering wheel with audio controls, rear window washer and wiper, speedometer with mood lighting, an overhead console with a sun glass holder, chrome door handles, higher grade fabric seats, and a vanity mirror lamp. The boot comes with a power socket as well as lamp. On the safety front, dual front airbags and ABS with EBD are available.

Maruti Vitara Brezza ZDi+

The top-end trim gets auto headlamps, rain sensing auto wipers and electric folding ORVMs with turn indicators on the outside. Features inside include keyless entry and push button start, reverse parking camera, Smartplay infotainment with CarPlay, inbuilt navigation with Mapcare (which updates your map data with every service), a cooled upper glovebox, cruise control with a switch on the steering wheel, sliding front armrest with storage and a front seat belt height adjuster. The ZDi+ also gets dual-tone paint options.

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza @ Auto Expo 2016

Had called up Pratham motors in Bangalore. As per the SA, the booking were supposed to start from today, but they haven't yet received any information from Maruti.
Was told that I will be contacted as soon as they get any information from Maruti.

Looks like there are a lot of enquiries being done and a lot of people waiting for the official bookings to start.

In all probability its the budget effect with various types of taxes being levied now. The dealership here is also not commenting on any booking date which till yesterday they were sure of.

Dear Mods, I hope that media drive will be soon happening now. Please request you all to upload the review as early as possible or atleast let us know when we can expect it. Thanks.

The additional tax levied for sub 4 Meter cars have impacted the pricing strategy of the VB

- 1% on Petrol and
- 2.5% on Diesel

Looks like VB is going to have a negative impact in Buyers mind with pricing. Maybe the so planned x,99,999/- tag for the base variant is going to be now x+1,0Y,999/-

MSL is feeling the heat even before the launch

Tata has already increased the pricing Source http://indianexpress.com/article/bus...ices-increase/

Even for the top end Brezza, the new 2.5% tax will result in an additional ~30,000/- or so. Not too sure how did you reach the numbers of 1,0Y,999/ which I read as a lakh+ ?

Nope. He might be saying: If it was originally planned for a starting price of 5,99,999/-, it will go up like 6,09,999/-. Actually, it will go up more than this, like 6,29,999/-.

Thanks RomeoMidhun; That is what I meant. I was assuming if the VB Petrol was to be launched at 4,99,999/-, then the 1% will add 5000/- and it will become 5,04,999/-

Maybe was not good enough to convey what I meant.

As of now, there's no mention of a petrol engine option, and there won't be one at the time of launch, but the Swift's 1.2-litre petrol and even the all-new 1.0-litre, three-cylinder Boosterjet turbo-petrol could be on the cards for later.
Quote:
There are talks of an AMT-equipped version, but that is expected to join the line-up later. The SHVS mild-hybrid system also won’t be offered on the model.

Quite strange, I have contacted the dealers here in bangalore and they claim they do not have any confirmation yet and have not got intimation for booking either. So, if any of you could pull your strings and let us know when the pre booking would kick off, it would be great!
