Re: Volkswagen @ Auto Expo 2016

What an relief it is browsing this thread after the Mahindra @ Auto Expo 2016 thread!

Absolutely clean and elegant designs.

Didn't they have any interactive touch points like Ford or the others? Just cars lined up?

Re: Volkswagen @ Auto Expo 2016

My guess is that there might be one updated model of Vento with LED headlamps and DRL's , all my wait for Vento TDi DSG is proving to be futile (Just need a reverse camera , auto headlamps and auto dimming ORVM's)

On side would the reverse sensor do the the job that could survive without reverse camera .

Re: Volkswagen @ Auto Expo 2016

That frameless IRVM in the Passat GLE looks great. Wonder if we can fit something like this in a polo.

No projectors - LED lamps for the low and high beams inside their respective barrels with reflectors.

The 8th generation Passat B8 showcased here has all LED headlamps inside projectors. No xenon/HID bulbs.

The Jetta is due for a refresh. The current one has been there since 2010. Expect all LED headlamps in the next generation.

Re: Volkswagen @ Auto Expo 2016

some features in the outgoing Passat are not there in the new one being displayed? E.g there are many dummy buttons near the gear lever. The older one had "Auto Hold", electric rear sun blind, Park assist, Self Park, Traction control, electronic parking brake etc. May be they are not labelled in the new vehicle or this could be a comfortline version . May be there is a highline version with all these bells and whistles.

Is there anything that is changing in the Jetta? I read that there is a new head unit for Jetta in 2016 from the Jetta 2015 thread. Any other additions to the car?

Like you, I was suspicious after seeing a vague mention of it in the press release and wanted to be 100% sure before confirming the LED headlamps in my post.

The good news is that it seems to be the case! I have updated my post now.

Re: Volkswagen @ Auto Expo 2016

Interesting launches ahead. A big shout out to Volkswagen for introducing LED headlamp clusters in a C2 Segment car!

Any idea when the Tiguan and new Jetta (with LEDs/Bluemotion) will be launched in the Indian market and at what price point the Tiguan will be introduced? Was planning to go for an Octavia but seems like waiting out for the Tiguan might be rewarding.

Early next year is what I heard in the webcast. First the Ameo in early 2nd half, then the GTI in September, Passat GTE by year end and Tiguan early next year. 4 products in the next 15 months is what was said.

Not sure about the Jetta.

Re: Volkswagen @ Auto Expo 2016

Great stuff with the Vento LED lights! Amazing proactivity from VW, the lumbering giant. Had they executed even 50% (of what they have done in the last 12 months) when they launched in India (in terms of getting the then cutting edge features), they could have been the undisputed kings of the 'premium' segment in each class.

Better late than never :-)

Re: Volkswagen @ Auto Expo 2016

Hey guys

Apart from the said updates do we have any upgrade in terms of airbags?

Just curious. Also when will the new Vento be available for booking.

Apologies if it sounds like a novice query. Thanks.
