Big shoutout to Aditya for shooting these pictures & his coverage of the Auto Expo. Thanks for sharing, man!

The much loved brand among enthusiasts turned up at the 2016 Auto Expo with 2 of their performance hatchbacks.

This is the Abarth 595 Competizione:

The Scorpion logo stands for power and strength:
Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016-4.jpg

This 1.4L T-Jet motor churns out 158 BHP and 230 Nm, enough to propel this car from 0-100 km/h in 7.6 seconds:
Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016-14.jpg

Its face is still very retro:

This car measures 3,657 mm in length:

Sun roof:

More badges to scream out its identity:

A very functional dashboard. Not befitting its inflated price tag:

Superb racing seats:

Even the back rest adjuster has a Scorpion on it:

The other Scorpion is the more affordable, high performance Abarth Punto:

Fiat had 2 cars under wraps. One of them is the pre-facelift Punto which Fiat plans on resurrecting and will position it below the Punto Evo. The other one...we'll have to wait till tomorrow to find out:

Fiat showcased the Linea 125s:
Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016-31.jpg

It will be powered by the same 1.4L T-Jet petrol motor albeit in a higher state of tune. It now churns out 123 BHP (@ 5000 rpm) and 210 Nm (@ 2200 rpm) of max torque:
Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016-33.jpg

This new blue colour looks too loud on the Linea (in my opinion). It is nothing compared to the Oceanic Blue or the Foxtrot Azure:
Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016-32.jpg

Gloss black ORVMs:
Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016-37.jpg

Black turbine alloys. Notice the raised height of the car!

Gloss black roof:

Uses the ol' T-Jet in a higher state of tune:

125s badge tells you that this car got (more) bhp!

Interiors get a new touchscreen infotainment system. The rest remains unchanged:

Avventura Urban Cross concept to attract buyers belonging to the fairer sex:
Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016-13.jpg

If the Punto is too pretty for you and the Avventura is too tough, this car is the perfect solution - neither pretty nor tough ;)

Just look at that bulky body kit. Whatever happened to the timeless Italian design. I like the tail lamps though:

It loses the tail-mounted spare wheel:

It is powered by a 1.4L T-Jet petrol engine pumping out 138 BHP (@ 5500 rpm) and 210 Nm (@2000-4000 rpm) of max torque:

LED eye lids:

Unique front grill:

Fog lamps in a gloss black housing:

Avventura branding on the side strips:

In a single colour, these wheels would have probably looked nice. 3 colours - weird and wacky thread nominee:

Silver roof rails:

A temporary solution to cover the key hole?

Priced at Rs.4.49 lakhs for petrol and Rs.5.59 lakhs for diesel, ex-showroom New Delhi, this affordable hatch will be available at all dealerships across the country

The Punto Pure will be a 5-door hatchback and will be available in two variants. One will be powered with a 1.3 L Advanced Multi-jet Diesel engine producing 76 PS of max power and the other will be a 1.2 L FIRE Petrol engine producing 68 PS of max power, making the car fun to drive. While it still gives back an impressive fuel economy figures, the maximum torque generated is 197 Nm@1750 RPM and 96 Nm @ 2500 rpm mated through a five speed manual transmission. Punto Pure stays true to its DNA and will be a driver focused hatchback with genuine Italian flair. This car will also feature well-tuned suspension for exceptional ride and handling. It will be a pure driving machine which envelops the enthusiast with its zippy credentials and exciting nature.
lol:lol:

Excess inventory, dumping or lack of talent, whatever the reason be, this is a senseless move - bringing back the pre-facelift Punto:

No fog lamps, black ORVMs, black door handles, no black B-pillar:

Misses out on a rear wiper + washer:

The same alloy wheels it was introduced with in 2009:
Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016-5b.jpg

Pure? It should have been renamed Punto 'Poor' (planning)!

This is 2016! Fiat doesn't know that it seems. These interiors look so dated:

Only front power windows:

Rear passengers get manual winders:

Is the other car fiat tipo hatchback. It will be a pleasant surprise if they launch some entry level suv to take on VB.

I highly doubt it's the Tipo, else Fiat would have launched it on Day 1.

I guess it's the 180 bhp Abarth as many have speculated here.

Somehow it looks to me like the Avventura and Linea only, may be some minor update. The first picture showing two cars under wraps, one is unmistakably the punto pure. The other one looks like it has roof rails, black side cladding and the front grill with fiat logo above; all very much similar to the avventura. only the alloy wheel design looks different.
The one in the second pic looks only like the new Linea to me, especially that front grill shape.
How I wish i would be proved wrong and Fiat indeed gives us a pleasant surprise please:

The other two FIATs seen are these..

I've been a Fiat owner before - and a happy one at that - and I don't usually bash Fiat, but this!! Fiat, how many Auto Expos will you attend with the same two or three cars??:Frustrati

I dont think so. See the logo beneath the cover. It sits above the grill. Can be a linea abarth

Isn't the avventura already a crossover! or is that supposed to be an SUV! Then what is this!?
Something tells me the folks at fiat india are as confused about their products as I am! :D

So they took out the infamous/inconvenient spare wheel from the back, changed the interior theme, copied the grill design from the aegea sedan and added a new set of alloys. Like someone said, the name Punto Cross would have better suited it.
slightly off topic, if they provide those skid plates and side cladding etc as an accessory, I might consider buying them and getting rid of all that chrome on my Evo stupid:

It is Avventura Urban Cross for sure. Look carefully at those alloys in wrapped pic, it is same as Avventura.
Cheers

The wrapped pic where two FIATs are seen, are the Avventura and the Punto Pure.

The wrapped pic with one FIAT where the FIAT logo can be seen beneath the cover, that should be the Linea as said by amit.
