Re: Toyota Innova Crysta @ Auto Expo 2016

It seems they removed the front parking sensors!
Or will it be available only in the 2.8ltr variants?
I feel Toyota will launch a car with lesser features in India. They might not even give the 7 airbags been given abroad. Then they keep harping about safety.
TOYOTA prove me wrong

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta @ Auto Expo 2016

Looks like the 2.8 GD version would be a detuned version of the Fortuner engine.

It may put out 169bhp and 36kgm instead of the 177bhp and 45kgm of the Fortuner 2.8 going by the model introduced by Toyota in Phillipines.

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta @ Auto Expo 2016

The petrol engine for the Innova Crysta will be sourced from Toyota's global operations. However, there are rumours that the company might manufacture the engine in India as well. Later this month, Toyota is planning to brief its Indian vendors about the possibility of manufacturing this engine in the country.

According to GaadiWaadi, Toyota Kirloskar Motors is expected to launch the all new Toyota Innova Crysta on May 3. Both petrol and diesel variants will be available at launch.
Deliveries of the diesel model will, reportedly, begin from May 13, while the petrol variants will start arriving at showrooms in August. The Toyota Innova Crysta will establish a new premium MPV segment, and prices could start from INR 13 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

The diesel variant will pack the 2.4-liter GD engine producing 149 PS and 342 Nm of torque with a 5-speed manual transmission or 360 Nm of torque with a 6-speed automatic transmission. A bigger 2.8-liter GD diesel variant with 177 PS could also be introduced as it was spotted for the first time in the Innova Crysta at the Auto Expo. A 2.0-liter or 2.7-liter VVT-i petrol engine could power the petrol variant of the Innova Crysta.

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta @ Auto Expo 2016

Toyota has a 2 litre diesel (140bhp) doing duty in the Avensis and the RAV4, which are sold in EU.
They can always try to plonk that into the new Innova, instead of a petrol gas guzzler.

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta @ Auto Expo 2016

when does Team-BHP get to review the vehicle ? lots of potential buyers would wait for the official review.
I would be interested to know if they managed to fix the body roll problem.

is this in pipeline ?

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta @ Auto Expo 2016

That's an aggressive range by Toyota standards 2 Diesel engine options for one model - probably first time in Toyota India history as well getting Auto on this range. Looks they have started taking this segment seriously , with so many variants I think they can get volumes from lower variants and profits from higher but formal pricing will confirm this.

some interesting facts on the new engines

Main Specifications (specifications vary according to market)
1GD-FTV 2GD-FTV
Displacement 2,754 cc 2,393 cc
Bore/stroke ratio 92×103.6 mm 92×90 mm
Compression ratio 15.6 15.6
Maximum output 130 kw (177 PS)/3,400 rpm 110 kw (150 PS)/3,400 rpm
Maximum torque 450 N・m (45.9 kgf・m)/1,600-2,400 rpm 400 N・m (40.8 kgf・m)/1,600-2,000 rpm
Low speed torque 370 N・m (37.7 kgf・m)/1,200 rpm 330 N・m (33.7 kgf・m)/1,200 rpm

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta @ Auto Expo 2016

Looks like Toyota wants only Zx version to have AT. Guess Toyota strategy must be, those willing to shell out $ for a Vx are already in the 'higher income' bracket and it will not be too much of a stretch for these customers to spend a 'little more' $$ to upgrade to an AT + get a few extra goodies that Toyota will bundle with the Zx version that are missing in the Vx version.

Smart move from Toyota to reap profits from higher Zx & Vx variants while the lower Gx variants (AT & MT) will give them volumes.

This Toyota strategy seems similar to the strategy from Honda for their City model. Currently available Honda City V variant does not have AT. The lower SV variant has AT or customer has to spend more and buy the higher Vx variant to get AT + get additional goodies for the higher price that are missing in the V variant.

NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) packaging, high would mean lower engine noise in the cabin by better cladding in the hood, doors etc. Maybe would include better engine mounts for lesser vibrations.

Regarding the emission compliance.
BS V is skipped to BS VI in 2020. So there is no need of a EURO V/BS V vehicle with DPF till 2020. This is confusing.

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta @ Auto Expo 2016

Autocar's recent report again suggests that current gen and new gen to be sold side by side.

http://www.autocarindia.com/auto-new...-401308.aspx/0

A first for Toyota, the current-gen Innova in G and GX trim levels will be sold alongside the new model. It is safe to expect the Innova Crysta to be priced at a premium. Bookings are likely to commence soon.

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta @ Auto Expo 2016

I think Toyota have got a decent variant spread. The GX AT should be priced well I hope. I have a strong feeling that the ZX AT will only come with captain/bucket seats and that would be a real bummer! Hope Toyota springs a surprise at least for that.

Prices expected to be around 22 lacs OTR Thane for the AT variant is what I've heard not sure if it is for GX or ZX, my guess is it should be for the GX variant. The ZX i feel will top out at around 26-27 lacs OTR.

Hoping my guess and information on pricing is wrong here and the Innova is priced much better.

Some dealers are taking bookings and we're 3 people so far who have put down a booking amount with deliveries expected between June - August (trying for before). Of course whether I will proceed with buying one depends on the pricing and pricing only. I expect excellent resale for my current one which has barely done 23,000 kms in ~2 years. The temptation to retain the current one is very strong but the finances will not allow for that

Thanks Kunaldhami, was this a single image or a link to additional pages, It appears there are additional tabs as the image only displays the 1st tab. Can you check with your sales advisor to see if the other tabs can be shared as well. That would give us a better idea of the variants and whats included.
