Source is extremely reliable but cannot share on the public forum.
Can just say that the issue is creating lot of ripples across manufacturers.

We have to wait and watch

Its out in the media everywhere. I think Chd. not there as such but Asr, Jal, Ldh there. State Pollution boards have been asked to furnish pollution reports.

I am asking because the older Innova used to come with a 2 litre engine.

It is a good engine with a decent fuel economy of 12 KMPL
This is what the news article says :

Quote:
In the international markets of Thailand and Indonesia the Innova Crysta is currently sold with a 2.0-litre petrol engine. Nevertheless, Toyota is developing a new 2.7-litre petrol engine for the Indian market . The project has been expedited as the R&D department is working in conjunction with Japanese engineers. The newly developed petrol engine will make its debut in India followed by other markets.

Toyota Innova Crysta @ Auto Expo 2016

The car reached the dealership today around 12.45 pm. Took the Innova out myself. I don't want anyone else to drive her even for even 100 meters😁. I did the PDI and everything looks fine. ODO reads 3 KMS. Manufacturing date shows 25th May'16. Taking the delivery today itself! Zx 2.4 Pearl White.

Getting mud flaps and rear guard as accessories.

The car feels oven fresh 😊

Crysta bookings cross 20K units. A great achievement for Toyota. I wonder the way they moved from Qualis to Innova and now to Crysta, that too, without filling the vacuum by other models. (But why is Toyota not doing a similar strategy with the un-successful Etios twins, is the bigger wonder for me.)

Had Toyota retained the older versions, their MUV lineup - Qualis, Innova and Crysta - could easily generate 10-12K units per month, IMO.

Even now, they can launch the "Calya" in the 6-10L segment, Avanza / Innova in the 10-14L segment and retain Crysta in the 15-20L segment.

I believe they already have plans to reincarnate the erstwhile Innova as Innova Cross and bring it to Indian shores by end of the year. The idea being that Innova Cross and Innova Crysta will co-exist, at different price brackets.

Congrats, Sudeep.

I think you took a big risk - you would have been on your own if you had damaged anything either on the car or on anything else.

BTW, noticed that it is a 2.4 Zx. Do keep us posted on the drive experience & FE.

Thanks

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta @ Auto Expo 2016

Gaadiwadi says that 6,694 Units delivered in May. That is a very strong start and potentially would put it straight into the Top 10. Impressive numbers for a 20-25L vehicle.

Hello Sudeep sir,

Long time. Firstly congratulations on the Innova. Today I saw a white innova crysta in kothrud, after looking at the pics initially I was disappointed but it looks magnificent in person. Great choice. So is the crysta getting a similar ICE setup like the i20?

Drive safe and have fun

Asit

Thanks Sridhu for your genuine concern and you are very much right with your point. However, the guys were guiding properly and the dealer happens to be my friend so.

Yes, 2.4 ZX it is. I will try my best to keep you all updated.

Thanks Asit! It indeed looks nice in flesh. I was contemplating for bronze colour but settled for pearl white eventually.

No plans for ICE as of now😊. The sound quality is below average and after listening to my i20 setup this thing really sounds miserable and underpowered.
