Toyota are surely greedy with the pricing of the higher models.

The G version is close to the W6 of the XUV 500 in Mumbai. (13,84,xxx for the Innova vs 13,25,xxx for the XUV 500)

The VX 2.8 AT is a whopping 3,00,000 more than the W10 AWD version.
(20,78,xxx for the Innova vs 17,80,xxx for the XUV 500)
There is no AT version in VX. Which is sad. It is the mid segment which would have attracted a lot of Innova owners of a decade , like me.
The top end is too expensive and the GX is very ordinary in comparison. An AT in VX would have been a killer.

Was given to understand the petrol version will be launched in Nov'16. not confirmed. Just hearsay

Yes, base G variant has

Driver, Front Passenger & Driver Knee Airbags (3 Nos)
ABS With EBD & BA
All variants have the same brakes, front discs and rear drums.

I am starting to wonder if this will eat in to the XUV market.

I asked the sales executive about the specification, he is yet to come with that.
He told the base models are not available now.

What are the other specification, please do share your source. I couldn't find the details online.

When there is no competition, the leader rules. Innova has ruled with absolutely no worthy competitor in Indian market. With more powerful motor, upgraded interiors, all new design, and AT option, Toyota surely knows they have a big market to acquire. With crysta's offering, we can see several private buyers now.

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta : Kerala OTR price list

Sharing the rates for Cochin/Kerala.
This is on the higher side but would this make them stop using it as a taxi?

By that logic why buy any upper segment car, 90% of the task can be be done by buying a lower segment car. A person who has done an over 300km ride in a day in both Innova and Ertiga, will immediately tell you why people pay extra for Innova.

Toyota Innova Crysta @ Auto Expo 2016

People may go on and on about the pricing being higher than the competition but I personally feel they have priced it right. I was expecting a 23-24L ex-showroom price for the Zx AT.

Let's not forget, the Innova returns a similar value when sold. Most importantly the updated engines, safety features and interiors make it price worthy. Comfort and handling (for a Ladder-on-frame) were always innova's fortresses.

IMHO, cars like the XUV or the storme can be an alternative to the innova(with a fair share of compromises) but they can never replace an Innova. I just hope Toyota sticks to this price for a longer time.

All the required information is available on Toyota website.

http://www.toyotabharat.com/showroom/innova/

you are correct, i was referring to GX variant not G variant. Currently there is a note on the website - Grade E & G are made to order.

I would modify it slightly

Positives:
1. Interior in the zx version
2. Front end
3. Toyota Reliability
4. Incompetence of TATA
5. Incompetence of Mahindra

To the best of my knowledge, the old Innova had Airbags as standard in the last update. Why the backward step now?
As ecenandu rightly pointed out, here's the exact safety feature specifications from the brochure:

Seat belts (front & rear) and the child restraint system are standard across the Innova Crysta range.

I'm pretty certain that people will call up the travel agencies and ask for a new Innova, it's a "prestige issue" and in such cases price won't be a problem. The agency can jack up the price and demand will not be affected.

I am sure that resale values of existing innovas would have gone up, prices and taxes have been hiked over time.

Black colour has always been available on the Innova. It was taken off the color choice with the introduction of the 1st refreshed Innova in 2009 but I have seen even the '14-'15 Innovas in black colour. Black colour is made to order for the Innova, they usually produce it only when they get a fleet order from a hotel chain or cab agency. At least a minimum of 10 units applies ( I remember hearing this from the sales executive when we were purchasing our car). As it doesn't make sense to mix paint for just 1 unit for a mass produced vehicle.

Also this time they've gone with full black interiors and a black car with those interiors would be a very HOT experience in our country. This is the reason they've given a lighter tan colour for the leather seats in the ZX.

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta @ Auto Expo 2016

I am not happy that they have omitted a 6-speed manual. The fuel economy of 15.1km/l could have easily been increased with an inclusion of the 6 speed. That said, they are mentioning an all new 5 Speed. Other than the reduction of the vibration, what's exactly new? Is the ratios better? More smoother?

On another note, how is it even justifiable to pay 24 lakhs for Innova??? That's insane and why no auto on the 2.4? Why enforce a larger engine for the auto buyers. I feel its a bit muddled.
