Re: Toyota @ Auto Expo 2016

I totally agree here and feel the same that Toyota has really put up a miserable show. This could have been well utilised if they would have displayed all their models.

Vios, New Fortuner, Hiace were strongly anticipated and this put's further question mark on the launch of the above anywhere in the near future. Where is the Land Cruiser?

But, really appreciate the effort which they have taken to showcase the various vehicle security aspects.

Re: Toyota @ Auto Expo 2016

I thought Toyota would showcase Fortuner today, but it seems they did not do it.

One reason I can think of is to keep the sales of current Fortuner ticking. With new Fortuner launch in 2017, showing it now will have quite an impact on the sales of the current model.

But, the reason is why delay the Fortuner launch? Get it fast here.

What a sad show by Toyota...where is the new fortuner? Except for the new Innova there is no other crowd puller for this pavilion.

Re: Toyota @ Auto Expo 2016

What is Toyota doing? Wasn't this the right time to launch Rush? Toyota doesn't have an offering in this segment currently and I am sure the launch could have helped toyota surge ahead of competition given the capabilities of Rush. A 4x4 in the offering could have been an icing on the cake as well. Wake up toyota!! Wake up!!

Shocked at the absence of the new Fortuner and Rush

I am in two minds that the Company is underplaying it.
Will not be surprised if they launch the new Fortuner by october/November

Re: Toyota @ Auto Expo 2016

I saw Toyota Prius on TV so any chances of its addition on this thread.
The toned down Liva was looking far better than its current avatar.

Re: Toyota @ Auto Expo 2016

Rush and Vios are cars which can really help Toyota increase sales in India. Someone knowledgeable from the industry pointed out that they are looking at maximum localization prior to launch and that's why perhaps the delay. They know the competition is cut out for Rush and Vios and hence better to launch when 100% ready

Re: Toyota @ Auto Expo 2016

Seriously a very disappointing effort by the largest auto manufacturer. The seem to be just concentrating on the upcoming Innova launch only.

They have ignored other segments like the compact sedan, mini SUV etc which could boost their sales figure but just pushing some uninspiring taxi stuff like the Etios twins on the customers.

This was an excellent opportunity to introduce automatic variants in the etios twins, (amt or non-amt) as well as add more features & spruce up the interiors.
Missed opportunity for Toyota!

Re: Toyota @ Auto Expo 2016

Was there any mention of the HiAce for fleet and private segment. It was supposed to be showcased at the auto-expo but did not see anything on it.

Looks like Hiace plans have been shelved for now. No mention of it at all.

Re: Toyota @ Auto Expo 2016

How come there are no photos of the Prado & the XXl sized LandCruiser?

Both were on display at the Expo along with the Fortuner (with Black leather interior & red stitching).

The Landcruiser looked a lower variant with 18" wheels and no rear seat screens. If they are indeed selling this variant for 1.40 Cr, here, I am indeed glad I did not go in for one.

They were there at the back and there was nothing noteworthy about them.

The Fortuner got black interiors a while back and this generation of Fortuner has already been phased out except in India. They could have as well got the new Fortuner just for Wow factor.

Apart from the old Fortuner, there was also the Liva with dual tone paint, a regular Etios, a corolla Altis and Etios cross. These are what you can see in any Toyota showroom.

The new Innova Crysta, Prius, Mirai and the Le Mans car were the highlights of the Expo.

Any info on Vios launch date in India, heard from couple of friends that it might be launched in the month of May -June this year. Can someone from the source confirm the news.
