Maybe am no the TG. Always missed the AT on the Aria Pride AWD. Always drove it in AWD mode only.

It no doubt is a very tempting vehicle but just falls short. Also in this segment if not looking for a VAN/MUV (Innova) then from lifestyle perspective a Panaromic Sun Roof would have been good to have.
What is written is pure speculation. Unless launched we can't consider that they won't launch a top end 4x4 automatic.

Yep fingers crossed.

Will probably book something else before Hexa is released - ready to cancel which ever booking doesn't appeal. Unless it get delivered before Hexa is released.

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

Spectacular road presence. It looks much more butch than the Crysta, my family is on the look out for a people mover, if the price is right we might just go for the Hexa.

Keeping my fingers crossed on the pricing. All the rest is already sorted.

Quite possible that the "Terrain Response System" of the Hexa was going through the paces.

The launch seems to be very near. A Concorde Service Center RM confirmed this Monday that they are undergoing training on the Hexa!

Are you really serious on this? Wondering what would be on the odometer now based on tests done for several months.

Hope it's true and they are testing reliability factor. Wonder if car manufacturers will release tests done. Which could increase confidence level.

Is it a possibility that the cars have reached select yards in Bangalore?? I did not see any car parked at the Aadya motors yard @ ORR.

If someone remembers, there was this endurance challenge, where every single car was tested, barring kite & the hexa.

However, with the mindset that this larger community has, they expect a proof point from TM, every single morning. Honestly, this was the first of its kind by any manufacturer & very diligent one.

The cars involved in the run were already launched or on the verge of being launched. They excluded the Hexa maybe cause it was still undergoing testing and wasn't ready. They could undertake a similar run for the Hexa and the Nexon (with both the new engines) once they are ready.

As an owner of Aria for close to 6 years and 1.2Lakh Kms I think the first two points are on par with other products in the market. Actually would rate it better than my Maruti experience.
Service experience of my Honda and Hyundai was better, but still I don't have any major issue with the Concorde guys. Btw my i10 and City have never spend more than a day at service centre. Aria had spend 2days multiple times and 2+ days more than once (a loaner car, based on availability Storme/Manza/Vista, was provided for 2 days service as well).

Thank you to Rangaraj Pillai for sharing this on Facebook, who spotted the camouflaged Hexa test mule on MTP road, Coimbatore.

Not related to Hexa, but it is strange to see TN-37 (Coimbatore) plates. Usually aren't test mules registered where the manufacturer are based (in this case MH-14)?

Am used to seeing Renault/Nissan/Hyundai with TN-21 (Oragadam, Irungattukottai belonging to Kanchipuram RTO) and Mahindra with TN-19 (Mahindra City belonging to Chengalpattu RTO). So this is quite an exception

Any reasons behind this? Or am just noting this exception way too late?

What you say is right. It must be a logistical nightmare for arranging road permits/temp. registration for a vehicle made in MH14.

It still appears as an Aria to me. Why couldn't they design the MPV from grounds-up?

Short answer - Cost & Economics

Long answer - The Aria was made in paltry numbers - probably less than 2-3k units over the last 5 years, and that was not because it was a bad product. It was mostly because, it was priced above the Innova ( back then ) and Tata did not have the brand recall to do that over brand Toyota, and this gave it a bad start. So now, they are giving it a new name, new interiors and modified exteriors, and the same competent chassis and engine mechanicals to try and see if they can make some profit out of the investment they made half a decade ago.

Good thing now is that Innova is now over priced and is competing with the Endeavour, leaving a void in the 14-18L MPV segment.

TATA has a tie up with Jeyam Automotives in Coimbatore where the new products are tested. This Hexa also would be undergoing some testing in their facility and hence the TN registration.
