Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

Spotted on a testing run in Coimbatore by TAI member DJBro about 5 days back.

According to him:

Quote:
Looks so huge and menacing like the HULK.
Had a chance to take a quick peek at the interior and it's exactly like what we saw at the Auto Expo. Looks more like an European/American SUV.
Sad that the people of the company didnt allow me to take pics of the interior.
Also I had a look at the new Push-Button Start/Stop from Tata on the Hexa. It looks good.
My only disappointment is that the same 5-inch touchscreen is being used on the HULK, rather than a bigger 7inch one.

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

I am looking forward to replacing my Duster AWD with the Hexa AWD in year or two. Duster AWD is fantastic vehicle but with the kids growing up, we are running out of space in Duster, especially when the Driver is also there.

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

Hi guys, as I was going through my picture library noticed a few more snaps of the Hexa caught ad filming on the Leh - Manali highway.

There were a few Aria taxis doing the route, but the Hexa just didn't look like an Aria. I for one, won't call this a facelift. It is a very good job of transforming the way a vehicle looks, to present it as a new vehicle. to the team that worked on the vehicle design.

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

While big-screen is on wish list of many, 5inch is not a problem as long as it serves the purpose. We also should remember about Jeep Grand cherokee (Limited 4x4) which is 4x costlier than speculated Hexa price hosting 5inch screen. Touch screen is a problem for a driver.

eagerly waiting for launch !

Isn't a smaller touchscreen a bigger problem for the driver? Everytime he needs to divert more attention to the screen to do some tasks, since a smaller screen also means more clutter and smaller icons.

Larger touchscreen in cars usually means better usability (and looks of course).

http://m.autocarindia.com/Article.as...=News#comments

Autocar confirms an October launch for the Hexa. TATA fans better not look at the comments section however, which kind of shows the market realities and preferences.

For me, the most interesting aspect of the Hexa is the 10 speaker JBL sound system. 4 on the front doors, 4 at the rear, centre speaker on the dash. That makes it nine. So will it come with a sub woofer as well?

Yes, that is one speculation. Hexa will be equipped with a sub woofer as well, along with an amplifier if I am not wrong.

Do we have any technical data on 1.9L engine? How much difference is there in the power and torque output compared to 2.2L engine?

lol If this is sold as a Taxi, OTR would be INR ~11,50,000 (while the top end will be close to 23L OTR :/ )

It'll feel kindof weird if the same model of car at such a broad price range!

My guess is it'll probably be 2 tweeters on the A-Pillar, 2 Speakers on the Dashboard, 1 on each door & 2 at the back - either tweeters ON the D-Pillar or 2 proper speakers below.

Hello,

Yeah I too agree with what you said. The design language of Tata cars are now getting better day by day. Tata motors have realized that they would have to leave the design language which they formerly adhered to. Tata's stall in the Auto Expo this year wowed most of the visitors.

Not only Hexa, but the upcoming Nexon as well as the Kite5 are examples of brilliant designing. Kite5 is the best looking sub4 meters sedan in IMO.

Hope that the hard work of Tata is appreciated by public in terms of sales figures too.

Best regards
Aakarsh

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

Not sure about the authenticity and I see most the updates here make it to news in that site, but still it will be nice if it is true.

"Tata Motors is inching closer to the launch of the Hexa SUV which is expected in October. Being the flagship SUV, Hexa prices were rumoured between Rs. 15 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh. However, emerging reports say Tata Motors will be competitive on pricing and the Hexa range could start at Rs 12.5 lakh, ex-showroom."

I think for tata this is the last of the 'similar to existing' looking series. Zest, bolt and now this. The close resemblance to the aria in profile , stance and front orvms etc is still there , even the way the rear corner roof forms a triangle of sheet metal.
Creating a 'different' looking vehicle from the aria was the biggest challenge to the design team. I dont think they have done enough.
