The black looks like a perfect gangster car. Will get lapped up by local politicos. Blue is classy minus the thick chrome strip in the tailgate. But for the increasing traffic within cities and the advent of very convenient taxi services, would have seriously considered the Hexa. Let's see if I'm able to resist once I see it in flesh. The last time I acted very prudent, the Storme came along and changed my mind 😀

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

Reading on the forum, I see most are concerned about the reliability and service for the Hexa. An office colleague has a Vista and is so happy with the reliability and service and he comes from a Suzuki Swift. And I am a Honda customer and I dare any Honda customer to say they have had a satisfactory service post the Honda Amaze diesel release! If Honda can still have a fan following in-spite of their quality deteriorating day by day, why can't a company that is trying to improve have a fan following, or a hopeful audience? Tata takes it's customer feedback seriously and acts on it and it's something that Honda certainly does not do, atleast not of late.

I, for one, am gonna give the Hexa the benefit of doubt. In fact, I may even buy it over the Honda City face-lift that I am planning on buying. I am gonna prefer a company that is trying to improve, rather than a company that is taking the customer for granted.

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

Glad to see this thread very active. I am eagerly looking forward for the Hexa launch for various reasons. For once, i see a serious contender against the Crysta (on paper for now) and the overall package seems good.

I do see a similarity between the Aria and Hexa but that's only when i look from a side profile. Hexa looks more than a facelift. This is not something like they just changed the grill or headlight and calling it a facelift. E.g Premier padmini's (where a grill change and sticker meant a facelift - at least in some models but the car still looked just the same) Toyota Innova facelift before the crysta. The car looks fresh inside out. And this is not even overdone design like some aftermarket company. This looks like someone is doing their job seriously. The accessory guy can probably add some bling factor to cars but can they redesign the door panels, bonnet, features, dynamics ?

I am not surprised by the negativity against Hexa and the Tata brand. Its a self inflicted wound and Tata will have to work hard to change the perception. If they could do a Tiago i am sure they can make Hexa a decent success. Some (or may be lot of them) are first time Tata buyers and are happy. My neighbor upgraded his alto to Tiago and is very happy. And the sales numbers are a testimony that the product is a decent one. All Tata Motors will have to make sure is that the overall package of owning Hexa be the best value for money. One good example is our popular XUV 500. Plus have Tata dealers be brand ambassadors and not vice versa.

The only feedback to Tata is that they should work on reducing the front windscreen area as that seems a bit odd.

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

It should have good boot space even after having all the 3 rows. The cameraman can be seen sitting in a good enough position in the pictures above.

And if the 2nd and 3rd row seats are folded down, then Hexa can give competition to Tata 407.

Got a call from TM Pune, enquiring about my old safari & if i would be interested in selling it. I mentioned that i would be interested to trade in with the Hexa. They said, they would send someone to make an assessment.

Any other folks who received similar calls???

I own a Manza and no, haven't got a call yet. May be they are targeting Safari owners.

But there has been a pattern since last some launches of Tata starting from Zest. I always get a call asking about the feedback of the car, after sales service and the improvements that can be done. Last time I got such a call when Tiago was about to be launched. Let's see if they collect the information this time too.

If you read the autocar review, they have reduced the boot space slightly to allow for more comfortable 3rd row. The Camera man is literally half outside the the boot. I don't think you can actually close the boot, without pulverizing him.

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

Looks like a photo-shoot for an accessories/kit brochure, judging by the number of add-ons to the Hexa such as - chrome garnish on the tail lamp, rear edge protector, chrome lining on rear wheel well, chrome surround on the AC vent, side-step set - all this with the "TUFF" badge on the rear lower bumper.

Also, the rear alloy on the car looks different than the alloy on the ground. Maybe a different design.

Could be the making of a "TUFF" body kit for the Hexa, to be made available separately.

That's why I said that the cameraman is just in a good enough position.

Even after reducing the boot space, it can still accommodate 2-3 small bags for a short outstation trip. It's still larger than other SUV/MUV's such as XUV.

No intention of pulverizing anyone.

I wish I had my Safari now !

The hatch door has a hook to pull it down from the inside. So, you dont need to reach out all the way up the door

Videos give a clear look at the LED tail-lights in action:

Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016-untitled.gif

The Hexa seems quite nimble-footed, and the pick-up is great on ghat/slope sections. Doesn't seem like a 2-ton machine at all!

Full marks to Tata's engineers for fine-tuning the VariCOR to make it a cracker.

I bet the final product will be one heck of a machine.

The other thing of note in the 2 videos posted is a lack of black smoke emission when the vehicle accelerates.
