Any idea who they are sourcing them from? This I guess is the first pure AT from Tata. Would this mean, their Nexon (atleast) has a chance of getting a torque converter as well? (wishful thinking :))

From what I read in Autocar review, the auto box is developed by GM.

Yes. It is expected to be a 6 speed GM sourced unit, most likely the very same one also deployed in the Trailblazer.

It's kind of funny that we are still "lifting" the cloth on the Hexa to see what's underneath! :D I doubt there is anything that we haven't seen yet! But then, it's the excitement about the product & discovering it with the hawk eyes I guess.

It is indeed strange that we are supposedly close to the launch of the Hexa and there is no sign of any ads in the news papers. Atleast there could be some teasers but zilch. Doubt that Tata's would launch this car in coming months.

You can see the update in this thread itself that training for service personals is already started, and media drive is scheduled 3rd week of this month.

I think it's high time TATA announces the launch dates of the hexa since we are already into the festival season. When Toyota has already announced the launch date of the new fortuner what is stopping Tata. Even Hyundai I presume has announced the launch date of Tucson. I wonder how many takers would hexa attract since its a Tata product and it's ''Most likely'' to be launched at the end of the year. I am eager as to how hexa would be accepted in the market..

Been following this thread for last week or so and the excitement here is palpable.
Though I do feel that it is expecting too much for Hexa to be a serious challenger to the Innova. That boat has long sailed especially when the latest one got launched to such a response. The best case for the Hexa would be to match the current XUV numbers and do that by stealing customers primarily from XUV and to some extent from Innova.
It is most likely to be priced in the same range as the current Aria. It is after all an upgraded version of that platform. I don't expect it to be cheaper than either Aria of Storme.

My expectations from Tata for Hexa:

1: Please give it a realistic pricing. Pitch the product against XUV and undercut the pricing by 10 k minimum Vis a Vis each model.

2: Please improve your dealership experience. I recently went into a Tata dealership for Tiago test drive. No excitement, no wow factor just a mundane feeling prevails to somehow do the job. Please visit a MSIL dealership and teach your staff about how to deal with prospective customers.

3: Please shun your lethargic approach towards marketing. Tiago worked because it gives a feeling of car one segment above than it is. As pointed out festival season has started and Hexa is still not available for sale. Is your marketing division sleeping?

4: Please do proper planning. At this point when Tiagos should be flying out of your showrooms you have vendor issues, unexpected demand for petrol version causing people to wait. Please don’t axe your foot. :Frustrati

5: Please have a customer centric approach after sale is done. Your workshops in many places still work and function like commercial vehicle workshops.

The vehicles you mention above are already available in other markets and are being introduced here late.

Eagerly awaiting the Hexa launch. For me its not just about the pricing, which I agree is quite key for Tata, but also about service. I do hope that Tata think through the entire strategy right through till the after sales service. When people buy premium cars they expect premium treatment.

Wishing team Tata the very best for this launch. I can vouch for a fact that I will be in the showroom within a couple of days of the launch. And who knows, this may be the next car.

@Lateesh. Sure the personnel are being trained. But beyond the TBHP there is an audience which is ignorant about the development. There is a need to develop the anticipation for the car. Pricing as has been repeated often will be the key and I hope Tata don't get the pricing wrong like the Aria. They had a good chance with Storme too to take on XUV but they failed by not offering much for the asking price.

I captured it today at highways near Avinashi, Coimbatore.

Looks like they are targeting the base model for around 10 L bracket.
If you can see door handles, back bumper, rear door handle are all basic black and no wiper on rear wind screen.
You can find the differences in last picture between the two variants
