Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

I keep reading posts in other threads that Hexa launch is slated for 2017 and next is line is kite5. Is it true? Can someone confirm what's next in line for the launch, if not the ballpark date?

As far as I have interacted with few dealers in Bangalore (Concorde and Prerana) and Tata Motors CRM, Kite 5 launch is next, followed by Nexon in early 2017 and Hexa launch in festive season 2017.

Thats very late. Market is already getting crowded will mini and compact suv's. The number of people looking for suv for stance and looks will choose compact suv. This limits the users looking for full SUV. So the longer tata waits for Hexa launch, the chances for failure grows exponentially.

Every one of us have a speculative information. The launch quoted at many places is this festive season. Is this confirmed??? no....speculation again.

If TATA is looking at 2017, they might as well kiss their backs good byes.

Skoda Kodiak is scheduled for 2017, not sure if these guys consider Skoda a competitor

Well I got a different news. I heard from an inside source that Hexa is scheduled for launch in the next 2-3 months at max.

+1

I have been told about September launch just before DIWALI. (hopefully dont postpone this time)

Tata's have upgraded Quality of new products & customer support is quite satisfying as well, Experienced this with Our 2016 Vericor400.

All i can say is 'Our next addition will be in 1st quarter of 2017 THE HEXA'.

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

Hexa Launch is this year. 2016. No doubt about that.
Confirmed with dealers.
But they are not committing to date.
Should be anytime before Diwali.
& Kite 5 sedan close to year end.
Nexon definitely next year.

No news of Zest facelift. Or confirmation of Tiago AMT.

Additional testing is to ensure minimal niggles after launch. TATA is trying hard to change that reputation of 'don't buy a TATA for first 1 year'. (unfortunately Mahindra has it now) ... trying to change it to ... buy it AT LAUNCH. Because you get mouth watering offers like AMC, extended warranty and 'introductory pricing'.

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

Meanwhile, extensive road testing of the Hexa continues.

This one was spotted near Coimbatore, with it's windows down, by a Rush Lane reader.

Quote:
A Rushlane reader from Coimbatore happened to cross path with this test mule which was testing with its front windows down, perhaps to gather data on the mileage with the AC off.

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

Thanks for the update RavenAvi, and to Rushlane for the latest pictures of the car on test

Couple of very minor observations from the afore-posted images;
  • Seems to be the mid-variant, does not get alloys but blessed with a rear-camera, indicator on ORVMs
  • The third picture shows the seat-belts across the third window, assuring us that the stupid side-facing arrangement from Storme is not going to be carried on
  • Witnessing a third bulge on the sides; the first being the shoulder crease, the last being the plastic (grey/black) cladding, wondering if they have added another bit of cladding in the center of the door fascia.

Rear wheel is steel and front wheel is alloy (may be due to tyre puncture) , so we cannot confirm which variant it is.

I see the rear wheel is a smaller Donut which are commonly found as stepney (Spare) in most European cars.May be they are testing the condition when the owner has a puncture and had to use the spare.

Few pics of camaflouged tata hexa

HI team,

PFA a few pics of the tata hexa under test spotted a couple of hours ago. Both the cars were stripped down heavily with wires running on the floor. Sported a 6 inch? touch screen navigation system. Could not take the front pics since they started to move. But the front was morphed like an Aria with same head lamps and grill. The only indication of Tata was the steering wheel which looked the same as the one in Storme.

Regards,
Sagar

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

Hello all,
I spotted the Tata Hexa somewhere between Satara and Pune. I first thought of it as Aria as I didn't know about Tata Hexa. I captured the video from dashcam and uploaded it to Youtube not because i spotted it but he was driving as if the National Highway was his racetrack. So here is the Video of the Reckless Tata Hexa.

That is so irresponsible and reckless, I absolutely condemn this.
But I would also like to point out that suspension setup, handling and ride quality on Hexa looks good actually. Minimum body roll, good grip and agility for this size of a car. Hope they will launch it sooner as this could be a worthy competitor for innova crysta.

Actually we cant really judge the body roll from the video. The suspension definitely seemed to be soft on that car. That I guess should bring in some body roll. But yes the car looks interesting. But Tata would never ever achieve the reliability of Toyota Innova which in turn has turned out to be overpriced. Anyway if Tata launches this with a competitive pricing, I am sure this will be a success.
