Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

I somehow did not find the driving in the video to really be rash. It was a professional driving and the vehicle looked in control. The other vehicles also didn't seem to flinch or be affected by the seamless lane crossing.

I have been witness to other test vehicles multiple times and in most cases they were the fastest vehicles in that section of the road irrespective of the models - Especially in the case of camouflaged vehicles.

This is a bit divergent of the overall view but is my take on this.

New video from TATA Motors. Complete vehicle portfolio captured & Hexa just comes & goes

Many say a July launch, hoping for an action filled June - with confirmed news, ofcourse..

Brilliant video (not the sharpest editing at the beginning though). Wish they were more active in social networking with a focused strategy. Even their youtube videos garner fewer views than the competition somehow due to their fragmented approach (too many product specific channels - example one for Tata Motors and one for MadeofGreat etc). Their SEO could do with a lot of improvement too. Really hope they are successful with the Hexa, the Aria was a competent product and yet failed due to poor planning

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

OnCars confirms through it's sources that the Tata Hexa will be launched in July 2016.

According to them, this will be Tata Motors' timeline regarding future launches:

Hexa (July 2016)
Kite 5 (Diwali 2016)
Nexon (Q1 2017)
Pelican (late 2017)

Quote:
We informed you earlier that Tata Motors will launch the much-awaited Tata Hexa crossover in the country this year. According to our sources, the Hexa crossover will be launched in July, 2016.
It will be coming with the same 2.2L, 154BHP/400Nm diesel unit as the Storme 400.

Will Tata have second thoughts with a 2 + litre engine post NGT enthusiasm?

See, this is the trouble with Tata Motors. The hottest segment right now is mini-SUV and they have pushed Nexon to 2017. They should launch Nexon a.s.a.p. Hexa is good as it can sit pretty between Safari and Endeavour but Kite? Why? It will have to compete with mighty Dzire which even Toyota could not succeed with its Etios and Hyundai could not with its Xcent. Don't know when TM will learn.

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

With the Govt. contemplating the Dumb ban on Diesel Engine cars beyond 10 yrs age in 15 cities won't the demand and resale of Diesel vehicles simply crash irrespective of the 2L aspect which too is ridiculous.

Also one would probably require a 3-4 ltr petrol engine with a FE of 5-6 to match tge Torque required to move a heavy SUV.

Govt. might as well instead ban vehicles of wt greater than 2T.

Generic topic but this forces me to wait out on picking up a vehicle in the Endy to Hexa range.

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

Regarding the Video, I have also seen a couple of Hexas being driven at extremely high speeds at the same area of the NH4 last month. I was on my way to Kolhapur from Bangalore and had stopped for tea and suddenly saw two camouflaged Hexa's going towards Bangalore. Although I can only guess but they were easily doing in excess of 150KMPH.

It does appear dangerous driving in the video. But we are watching it in 2D. So really cannot comment on driving of this vehicle.

Due to lot of two wheelers, overtaking from wrong side is very common.
My two cents on the issue.
1. No one has commented on the SRT bus lazing along on the right most lane and blocking high speed traffic.
2. The video taker himself overtakes from the left, and then blames the Hexa driver for breaking rules !
3. Bikers on the middle lane on such a highway are simply disgusting, yet cannot be wished away.
4. The Swift too has similar manners, only the fact that he did not zip away as fast as the Hexa.
5. I am IMPRESSED with the nimbleness of the HEXA. Having a Pure (ARIA) myself, I can vouch for the rock steady confidence that this platform inspires. Point missed out by the folks here is the precise steering of the car, which is essential for jack rabbiting in this manner.
6. Try this with a Scorpio / Xylo and you will appreciate the ARIA / HEXA.
7. Lastly, we (Indians) are hypocrites, we cannot and will not appreciate a desi product till it is forced out of the market. (This is for the Crysta beater speculations).

The Hexa is a reworked version of the Aria with an already existing varicor 400 engine and thus obviously will take less time to launch than the Nexon which is ground-up a new product. 2017 Q1 launch for the Nexon seems about right, let us just hope that they have tested it enough before the launch. Please no unnecessarily ASAP launches.

You may not be a fan of the car, and personally even I am not a fan of compact sedans because for me it is either a proper sedan or not, but there does exist a large market in favour of such propositions in India. The Kite is based on the Tiago and will form a completely new compact sedan segment in a lower price bracket than the DZire. Don't be so sure that the Kite won't do wonders. Remember it was TATA that popularized the compact sedan in India with the Indigo CS

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

Had snapped the HEXA at a petrol pump on my way to Bangalore. The HEXA was lead by an Aria.

Good observation M3_07, I would assume they would have switched them off to reduce glare on particular angle. Just my thoughts though.
