I do not think Hexa is going to hit market in Sept/Oct. May be they will launch but start delivery by late 2016 or early 2017. But we can expect Kite Sedan in September.

Just spoke with Concorde motors in bangalore. They have no idea about launch or pricing. They are hopeful that it will be launched by end of the year.

Is this right about the suspension setup chaning according to the driving modes? If yes, isn't the price that is mentioned is absolutely stunning? I am doubting this article now. Too many too good things to believe.

Also, I wonder how will they classify the variants.

@ driverabhi: suspension settings will not change. Guess it will alter the engine mapping though.

Hexa looks so butch on road! Hope it launches before Diwali.

My gut feel is that Tata might release both Kite 5 and Hexa within this year.

Those steel wheels (the same as Storme as it appears) look very puny in the lower version. Due to high profile tyres, the car appears as if running on balloons. I hope TATA provides bigger steel wheels for the lower variants. But I must say, those wheels fill the wheel well perfectly.

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

It has been reported in ACI that Hexa is expected to launch early October. If this happens it is indeed good for Tata.

Quote:
Tata will finally launch the Hexa crossover in October this year.

Although based on the same platform as the Aria, the Hexa gets a huge update inside out. There are lots of SUV design cues, like the black cladding that runs around the car along with some nice angular details.

The Hexa gets an all-new dual tone dash and better quality materials including a Harman Infotainment system and a 5.0 inch touchscreen that doubles up as the reverse camera too. The instrument cluster is all-new and features a high-resolution 3.5-inch TFT colour screen which gives readouts of things like the driving modes and other data. A 10-speaker setup by JBL specially developed for the Hexa will be available on the top-end versions.

Power comes from a 2.2-litre diesel engine good for 156.2hp and 400Nm of torque. This is the same unit that does duty on the Safari Storme Varicor 400. A first for Tata, the Hexa will come with four terrain modes similar to the one seen on Land Rover models. Two gearbox options will be on offer, a manual and automatic, both being six-speed units. Top-spec trims will come with massive 19-inch alloy wheels and 235/55 R19 tyres. The Hexa will come with Vehicle Dynamic Control, TCS, Engine Drag Control and a total of six airbags.

Sources tell us that the Hexa will be priced a tad below the Innova Crysta, which means one can safely expect a starting price for the entry level trim to be close to Rs 12.9 lakh (ex-showroom).

Would be interesting to see how Tata will position the Hexa. When the Aria was launched it was at par or slightly more than the earlier Innova so it didn't stand a chance from day one. With the new Innova crysta being much more expensive, Tata should look at positioning this at par with the XUV 500 and much lower than the Innova to create a VFM proposition.

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

Positioning is very important and a bit difficult for TATA.

After all recent experiences only way is to start with "introductory" pricing. Although Innova has moved up in pricing but It has also become a more competent vehicle now, also XUV is branded as an SUV.

TATA is not in the position to bet "only" on a well engineered/featured product.

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

The last time around, the Innova was slightly less-expensive than the Aria, but had a much less powerful engine, lesser refinement and slightly lesser quality interiors too.. But we all know what happened to both these products on the market.
And this time, the new Innova is more powerful, better equipped, with very good interiors to boot, and already is a runaway success. So Tata should definitely not benchmark this, but rather the price it on par with the XUV, where it could manage better volumes.
Also, the Hexa looks closer to an SUV, while the Aria looked closer to an MUV, though both were Crossovers.
