This isn't your ordinary Range Rover Sport. It's the range-topping SVR variant:



It's got a fire-breathing 5.0L supercharged V8 engine in 2 states of tune - 502 BHP / 625 Nm or 543 BHP / 680 Nm:


It was launched in India in October 2015 priced at Rs. 2.035 crore i.e. ~Rs. 29 lakh higher than the Autobigraphy. It comes with gloss black ORVMs, black roof, a sporty body kit, aggressive air vents on the bonnet and fenders, bigger wheels etc:


The Estoril Blue body colour is exclusive to the SVR. Notice all the blackened accents including the Range Rover badge:


Large air intakes to suck in cool air to feed the supercharged V8:


This is the first Land Rover vehicle to wear the new high-performance SVR badge:

The RR has been my favourite car but this black and white treatment is pure sacrilege! Looks tasteless (in my opinion):

Coming to think of it, the ARIA interiors seem to be inspired / derived from the Discovery ! The fascia, A pillar, foot well of the driver, twin glove boxes, the vanity mirrors, the 2nd and 3rd row seats (50:50 foldable), the 3rd rom AC vents on the C Pillars, the rear hatch door with struts, the boot area seem structurally similar !

Nice to see some top of the range vehicles like SVR on display. Surely there would be buyers for that in our market.

Evoque has been a favourite of the recent times and really love the looks and dimensions. However do not like the stretched version of the vehicle as it take out the character of this compact SUV. If one had the money would have gone for it a long time ago, wishfully some time sooner than later!
