+1

I prefer the facelift. Just replace all that tooth with a double mesh on the grille. Will look much better.

The biggest problem with the current S-Cross is that gigantic headlight, it looks so awkward, especially the variants below Alpha.

Even Alpha would have looked far better if the headlight bezels were black and if had the European grille.

Voted for "Facelifted look is much better".
Facelifted Scross gets a more nicer LED tails lamps, butch front looking bumper, better DRLs and hopefully some interior changes as well.
My issue with the current one has been the drooping nose and the hatchback like stance.
Can Suzuki India bring the AllGrip version ?

In line with what everyone feels at the moment, the tooth grille is such a pain. I've been waiting for this and looks like my wait wouldn't end too soon. Hopefully they'll launch it by Diwali.
And people out there working for MS, please let the 'greats' know how bad that face looks with those spoky teeth and hopefully they make it more aesthetically pleasing for India, atleast as an accessory.

re: 2016 Suzuki S-Cross facelift leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 8.49 lakh

Dzire - May 17 is definitely correct
Oct - 17 will be too late for S-cross and I guess it will be around Jul - 2017. Not a great idea to launch in Oct 2017 and have folks haggling for 2017 model discounts in 2018. Jul - 2017 more likely for S-cross
New Swift is in line with expectation
Ciaz will be under pressure from Hyundai Verna impending launch in July-August

Remote chance for a Jul- 17 launch. Maruti Suzuki takes normally 6 months of testing (with no engine change) for face-lift launches, considering the petrol variant is already on sale in Thailand.

Till date the S Cross face-lift has not been spotted on road tests yet.

You are right. Nexa RM tells that they will know at-least 6 months before launch and the launch is likely only in Jan, 2018

My RM said they have a training schedule lined up for the S Cross facelift in August, and it will have a petrol option too. Most probable candidates according to me are the 1.0L Boosterjet or the 1.5L M series engine. Launch expected around September end. How I wish that they launch the S Cross with the 1.4L boosterjet engine!!

Another development w.r.t NEXA is that they are soon coming up with their separate service channel, first to be launched in Gurgaon, and then in other cities. Land procurement for the facility is currently under process in my city, Ranchi.

Shashi

re: 2016 Suzuki S-Cross facelift leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 8.49 lakh

Did you hear anything about the chances of the 2.0 Multijet engine in the S-cross given that Maruti has signed up for 1.5 L 2.0 Multijet engine procurement over the next 3 years. Could it replace the 1.6 allowing for higher localization?

The 1.4 Boosterjet unless manufactured in India will not be a viable cost option for Maruti S-cross.

Nothing about the 2.0L. I did ask him about this development, and he said he has no information about this. However he did say that the days of 1.6L DDiS is probably numbered, because Maruti isn't too happy with the sales of the 1.6 S Cross.

I trust him a bit more, because firstly he is a senior RM, and secondly he is a hardcore auto-enthusiast and a dry honest guy. There is a dearth of such guys in the auto sector.

It is just a wish straight from my heart.

Still don't see any news about Auto tranny making the cut. Can't seem to understand the logic of avoiding the auto in a so-called premium car.

Wrong info mate.

Maruti has placed an order for 1.5 lakh engines, yes - but all 1.3 Multijets.

It's TATA who placed order for 2.0 Multijets, 70k engines to be precise. All for their upcoming new SUV range.

re: 2016 Suzuki S-Cross facelift leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 8.49 lakh

Makes sense. Maruti Suzuki was manufacturing Fiat 1.3 multijet under license. It was to expire in 2014 and was extended for 3 years I believe. So makes sense that they now purchase 1.3 multijet engines from Fiat. So there are no 2.0 CRDI engines in the S-cross that are expected

Sorry for the confusion.
The facelifted S-cross could then get 1.0 boosterjet or 1.4 boosterjet petrol along-with the existing 1.3. Looks like the boosterjets will be priced in 1.6 diesel territory going with the baleno RS experience

The 1.4L boosterjet is speculated exclusively for Vitara S in India.
