Look down on the road. Is it a Volvo, is it a BMW? No, it's a Suzuki.

re: 2016 Suzuki S-Cross facelift leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 8.49 lakh

I would be willing to forgive Suzuki for the grille if they launched the facelift here with these features -
http://www.suzuki.co.uk/cars/cars/ne...s/top-features

I would probably be immediately in the market for it (as would a few others here I guess).

If petrol is still a speculation, and with no sheet metal and mechanical changes over the current model, why would extensive testing be required? As I see it, changes are only on the bumpers, grill and lights (head & tail). I wish Suzuki would launch this NOW with the current engine options and think about the petrol variants later.

I don't know about others, but I find the vertical grill to be better than the horizontal one. Especially if it's a triple slat grill with the logo in the middle. Reminds me of vibuthi pattai (Tripundra).

Petrol variant is not a speculation, whether it is the 1.5L or 1.0L boosterjet engine is the puzzle to be solved.

Maruti Suzuki is right now reeling under production capacity and S Cross as understand from dealers S Cross is not being produced now, since priority is given for Vitara Brezza and Baleno. IMO, this facelift will not happen anytime soon in India and will happen along with the petrol variant launch in later part of 2017.

New S-CROSS offers a new design, as well as a renewed and improved equipment performance, which emphasize the role of Suzuki’s flagship. The front view of S-CROSS is now dominated by the new clamshell hood with double rib, from the imposing chrome front grille and bumper renovated. There are also new 17 “wheels with brand new 5-twin-spoke design, silver or BiColor. The rear, finally, confirms its sporty lines, now enhanced by the new headlights with LED technology.

Under the hood are available two new 1.0 petrol and 1.4 BOOSTERJET, direct fuel injection turbo, plus the appreciation units Turbo Diesel 1.6 DDiS. For gasoline engines BOOSTERJET a manual transmission is available in five or six gears (respectively for the 1.0 power units and 1.4) and a new automatic 6 A / T that ensures fluidity and speed of response. The diesel engine is available with manual transmission or with the latest generation DCT transmission, both six-speed. Traction can be 2WD or 4WD ALLGRIP type system, the result of evolution of Suzuki technologies, world leaders in the four wheel drive industry.

In my opinion, I feel the vertical grill has a better street presence in S-Cross. The pre-facelift though advertised as a cross-over it ended up looking like a big hatch. Suzuki should launch it in India this festive season with boosterjet petrol engine and AT in both petrol and diesel.

The look grows on you and that blue shade is a stunner. Maruti might as well bring it in soon to the country. Petrol+these changes will surely result in a good increase in sales.

Next step should be for Maruti to be less of a scrooge in Automatics. That TCSS or the CVT from Baleno must be available in more cars.

Indeed. The most recent set of pics with the public unveil in Italy does redeem the initial impressions of a badly done facelift. I was myself a strong critic of the design change, but as others have pointed out, it does seem to grow on one (much like the existing version) and may even be called handsome from several angles. Game is still on!

This blue is definitively a stunning colour and Maruti needs to ensure that this is available as a colour option when the facelift does hit our shores.

Dont think so - most had issues only with the garish chrome. And that remains. Rest of the face-lift was appreciated. Even in the photo posted by you, the chrome has been toned down in PP, thus making it look palatable

Looks real good to me. Like I said it is all about understand elegance and presence than outright looks. Just the kind I like. Looks real good in dark colors IMHO. Wish they had done some more changes to the interiors.

Am I the only one who likes this new design more than the current version. I find the current version boring.

Alloys in the new one are still boring . Maruti need to get some good alloy designs.

What's with that small square thingy in front of the intercooler air inlet in the lower part of the front bumper?

Looks that way. But it will be very vulnerable to impact and water damage. A better position would be on the top behind the IRVM
