Suzuki must get an award for
Somehow making alloys look like wheel caps! I mean why do the alloys look so plasticky? The current one on the Indian version is the worst ever alloy ever and the new one may be the 2nd worst. I just don't get it, some manufacturers go out of the way to create wheel caps that look like alloys and here we have Suzuki doing the opposite.

AutoExpress reviews the 1.0L boosterjet S Cross , gives it a 4 Star overall rating!

Boosterjet engine seems more favorable than the 1.6l engine. Following are the noticeable reported changes,
1. Significant restyle with the aim of making it look more like an SUV.

2. Redesigned lower body cladding and front air intakes, fresh alloy wheel designs, LED headlights and LED tail-lamps, too.

3. The suspension has been jacked up by 15mm to further bolster the illusion that this is a fully-fledged SUV.

4. Suzuki has freed up another 10 litres of space in the boot

It’s also surprisingly enjoyable to drive. The 110bhp 1.0-litre Boosterjet unit replaces the old naturally-aspirated 1.6, and we think it’s the pick of the new range. It feels eager, mainly thanks to the S-Cross’ slim 1,160kg kerbweight. As a result the S-Cross feels faster than its conservative 0-62mph time of 11 seconds suggests.

Looks like the new 1.0L Boosterjet means business. Cannot wait for Suzuki to plonk it into the 2017 Swift.

Here is the Autocar review of S-Cross 1.0 Boosterjet.

It’s not offensive by any means, but it’s simply not as refined as Skoda's or Ford's equivalent 1.0-litre units.

However, first impressions don’t always tell the whole story, and so it is with the S-Cross. Once underway, the engine smoothes out and settles down into an almost imperceptible three-cylinder thrum. Around town its hushed tones make it a far more relaxing drive than the gruff sounding 1.6-litre diesel we tested previously.

Push the engine harder and it will emit a distinctive growl, but this is backed up with impressive performance. And unlike some of the other downsized triples, Suzuki’s motor doesn’t have a noticeable step in its power delivery. It’s happy to pull from below 2000rpm and continues to do so until it hits its soft limiter at around 5500rpm. Granted, a 0-62mph time of 11.0sec doesn’t sound particularly quick, but impressive roll-on performance helps the S-Cross feel rather sprightly in the real world.

re: 2016 Suzuki S-Cross facelift leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 8.49 lakh

Suzuki's S Cross facelift version to go on sale from Oct 17th in UK. Pricing starts at £14,999 ( ~ 13 lakhs, INR)
Comes in a choice of 2 petrols ( 1.0L and 1.4 L boosterjet) and the 1.6L diesel engines.

Three grades of S-Cross will be available: SZ4, SZ-T and SZ5. All have seven airbags and ESP as standard, as well as a DAB, air conditioning and cruise control with a speed limiter.

The SZ-T model, which is aimed primarily at fleet users, adds features such as 17in alloys, a rear parking camera with front and rear parking sensors, dual-zone air conditioning and front foglights.

The range-topping SZ5 features radar brake support, heated leather seats and a panoramic sunroof.

Suzuki’s Allgrip four-wheel drive system is available on the top two grades and with all-three engine choices.
Prices for the new S-Cross line up now rise to £24,349 for a top level four-wheel-drive diesel and as such the car remains very competitive against the likes of the Nissan Qashqai and Vauxhall Mokka which are so popular in the crossover field.

Ha Ha Ha

rightly said, but it is a general observation that stock alloys in most cases do not match the after market alloys in looks, in fact some aftermarket alloys look simply cool & complement the overall look of the car, where as stock alloys really take the sheen off the whole idea of having alloys although it should be the other way around & complements to Maruti they lead the pack here, plain steel rims painted all black look better in most cases.

re: 2016 Suzuki S-Cross facelift leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 8.49 lakh

There are three cars that combined should give very good economies of scale for the 1.0 BoosterJet engine if Maruti decides to equip them with this engine. These are the Baleno, the Brezza and the S-Cross.

This way Maruti can also steal a march from the rest by equipping it's range with peppy, fun to drive petrols.

Here is to hoping. Now if only we also see that 1.4 BoosterJet but I guess that will be asking for too much.
Drive on,
Shibu.

Rumour: Maruti S-Cross facelift launch by the end of 2017

As per recent media reports, Maruti Suzuki will be launching the facelifted S-Cross in India in the second half of 2017. The car was revealed globally earlier this year, and was also showcased at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.

For the Indian market, Maruti will most likely continue to offer the S-Cross with the 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engines. There are also rumours about a petrol engine making its way to the S-Cross, though nothing has been officially confirmed as of now.

re: 2016 Suzuki S-Cross facelift leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 8.49 lakh

For me, this one definitely seems to have more character than the current one on sale in India.

As an enthusiast and a petrol lover, I just wish they get the 1.4L petrol Boosterjet here and that should be an awesome package of power, features and better looks!

End of 2017? That would be too late again, just the way it was launched 2 years after worldwide launch in India. It is doing decent number in my opinion. Why not get the refresh soon?

Maruti's obsession with weird looking tail lights & an overall weird rear design is incomprehensible, they have a long list of rear mess ups to their credit, Baleno (old model), S cross, Ciaz, Brezza & even the latest Baleno, its like they are working extra hard to make their cars look ugly at the rear... funny!

re: 2016 Suzuki S-Cross facelift leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 8.49 lakh

The S-Cross facelift, due to be launched in India by late 2017, won't be getting the Boosterjet treatment.

Instead, Maruti-Suzuki is prepping a naturally-aspirated 1.5L, 100BHP petrol for the current-gen S-Cross, which will be carried forward into the facelift too.

Quote:
While the international model received two new turbocharged Boosterjet petrol engines, for India, the facelift will continue to offer the current line-up of 1.3 and 1.6-litre diesel engines. Maruti is also set to add in a petrol variant. However, unlike the internationally model, the model for India is set to receive a naturally aspirated 100hp 1.5-litre M15 petrol engine mated to either a manual and automatic gearbox. As per reports, the automaker is likely to introduce the petrol S-cross before the launch of the facelift.

In terms of equipment, we can expect features such as the parking camera, Maruti’s Smartplay infotainment system, automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, auto climate control, cruise control, etc to be carried forward to the new model, with minor revisions likely to occur across all trim levels
