If they retain 1.6 diesel then I am in for the facelift, otherwise good bye Maruti Suzuki.

re: 2016 Suzuki S-Cross facelift leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 8.49 lakh

Quote:
Significantly, this 1.3-litre diesel hybrid will now be the sole engine on offer as Maruti has decided to pull the plug on the larger 1.6-litre diesel-powered version of its crossover. This engine was also sourced from Fiat and powered the top-spec variant of the S-Cross. However, it found few takers due to its high pricing. There is no petrol engine on offer yet, which is contrary to expectations about Suzuki’s 1.4-litre booster jet engine that was likely to make its debut.
Quote:
The S-Cross’ pricing is likely to rise due to the addition of this technology and the Government’s withdrawal of all hybrid sops under the GST implementation; this is unlike the Ciaz and the Ertiga hybrids that saw a drop in prices during their introduction. Furthermore, the recent additional cess on larger cars will also have an impact on the S-Cross prices.

re: 2016 Suzuki S-Cross facelift leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 8.49 lakh

With so many portals reporting that only 1.3 Diesel will be available, we also might look at other options. It will be really pathetic on part of Maruti to stick to ONLY mass market products. I hope we get good options in 10-15L band.

Dear people from Maruti, if you are reading this, get your act together.

Edit- Just read this. If this is the case, going in for a 1.3 doesn't seem to work now. The 1.3 will be phased out by 2020.

I sincerely hope that they come up with a petrol mill. Anything on that front Leoshahsi?

You think Maruti would stop that engine because of emission norms coming to life in 2020??

They'll milk that engine to its last possible piece on this earth. Maruti still has 2+ years left before the engine is put to rest, till then they'll definitely continue with the silly 1.3 DDiS in all their cars.

I am sure the 1.5L in-house developed engine will take time to feature in their own cars (I presume it is still under testing). So, till then, it is the 1.3L DDiS that we must buy for the S-Cross, if interested.

No cars powered by 1.3l MJD from Maruti Suzuki from 2020 onwards!

re: 2016 Suzuki S-Cross facelift leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 8.49 lakh

Maruti Suzuki's face-lift (DDiS200) will have a marginal increase in price speculates OverDrive.

Quote:
Expect the new S-Cross to have a hike in its price by around Rs 7,000.
Quote:
The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift though is unlikely to be offered with a petrol engine as reported earlier. A source says that during internal studies, it was observed that buyers in this segment prefer a diesel SUV than a petrol and hence investing in a new petrol engine didn't make sense.

  • Initially, only 1.3L diesel will be launched. Petrol will be launched next fiscal or quarter, after analyzing the response to the Facelift.

All RMs are disappointed by the super conservative approach of MSIL. Probably, even the Baleno RS will be discontinued by next fiscal.
Hello Friends ! My first post after joining Team BHP this morning. Absolutely correct Leoshashi. Only DDIS 200 coming with facelift. That too with SHVS. Confirmed by Sai Suresh Nexa and Jayabheri Nexa, Hyd. Tentative on-road price around Rs.13.5 - 14 Lakhs. Petrol engine only touched upon during training. NO 1.6. 1.4 petrol engine doing duty on Ciaz would be used for the S Cross. Same specs. Would be launched in 2018.

re: 2016 Suzuki S-Cross facelift leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 8.49 lakh

There have been lot of conflicting reports but I believe September 16th is the official launch date in Bangalore. Few more days and we will be clear from the horse's mouth on the fate of 1.6 liter engines.

Believe Vitara is also being planned for next year but nothing official news that I have come across.

Confirmed Intel received.

  • 1.3L DDIS to come with SHVS tech
  • 1.6L DDIS to be scrapped. Apparently for the handful of cars that they sold, Maruti got too many complaints and warranty claims for that engine, and was labelled as a problematic one. Even the engine oil used wasn't readily available.
  • Base models to receive some new features
  • Features on the Top end Alpha variant to remain more or less same
  • 1.5L Petrol and 1.5L in house diesel to come next year.
  • Sales Training will be complete by 15th of this month.
  • Service training will be a shorter one, and will commence from 15th

No petrol & No automatic in the so called facelift is really bad news for prospective customers like me . It seems with such a bad decision by Maruti , Ford has found a new customer for the petrol automatic ecosport .

So glad that I grabbed the last piece of the 1.6 model from my dealer's stockyard last month! Awaiting delivery on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra!

Oil & airfilters are spares issues; I wonder what went wrong with the warranty claim for that engine?

Wondering if this is the case & many more

re: 2016 Suzuki S-Cross facelift leaked. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 8.49 lakh

This is it. I'm done and dusted with following the S-Cross facelift. It was such a painful wait and an equally painful end. Going to cancel my booking today. Now Ford, treat me well with the facelift please. To me, this is such half-hearted ill minded work from Maruti. Go brag your 1.3 clatter.
