Costlier than Brezza and Ecosport! Nonsense. I thought it could be priced around 5.5 - 6L for base variant.

It's a vehicle disproportionate to the core. Even the parent Xylo looks disproportionate with its small hood and long body. With this creature, the small length and super-tall design makes it an eye-sore. The interiors - especially the aircon vents are scary even for adults.

Mahindra, what are you thinking? Has the success of XUV and mediocre sales of KUV and TUV gone to your head? Don't you have the examples of Verito, Vibe and Xylo in front of you?

Anyway, Nuvosport is designed for failure after the initial days, IMO. Then what's so important in its price?

Re: Mahindra Nuvosport is the updated Quanto

Mahindra may have added a lot of features into this ( Touch screen & cruise control etc) but it still carries the biggest drawback of its predecessor i.e, its totally disproportionate & too tall for its size.

Re: Mahindra Nuvosport is the updated Quanto

That is really funny prices for a redesigned Quanto. Why would someone choose this over Brezza and Ecosport?

Re: Mahindra Nuvosport is the updated Quanto

After seeing this ridiculous Price of Nuvosport, the Safari Storme looks cheaper or rather a way VFM car ....150 BHP , rugged body plus all other advantages it have.

This car is launched with 'failure' written on its bonnet aka forehead , i think .

Re: Mahindra Nuvosport is the updated Quanto

Price dangerously close to TUV which is a far better looking product from Mahindra, why would one buy NuvoSport - Just for touch screen, reclining 2nd row & cruise control.

Mileage claimed only 17.5 kmpl ARAI which will translate to not more than 12-14 in normal driving conditions.

God save NuvoSport !

Re: Mahindra Nuvosport is the updated Quanto

They have tried hard to make it worth the 50k premium over the TUV. Yes, it has got a few extra features, but as an overall package, I feel that the TUV is a better bet.
The TUV looks much better both inside-out.

Re: Mahindra Nuvosport is the updated Quanto

It seems that Mahindra intends to play Duster (old) - Terrano game over here.
Terrano came in with more features and at a higher price point, same way NuvoSport does.
It looks like M&M doesn't love to let any of their product die easily and thus have created little bit premium NuvoSport.

It is just not a facelift, but a heavily reworked car. Can we say next generation Quanto?
It gets mHawk100 engine which makes 16 bhp more than its first iteration. Now Ford EcoSport is not the only car in its category with 100 horses.
It is also feature rich.
In my opinion NuvoSport looks better and youthful than TUV300.

I don't find it pricey compared to MS Vitara Brezza as top spec NuvoSport with AMT costs just 20k more than Brezza.

Btw, get ready to be confused more and more as Mahindra is reportedly working on chopped down version of Bolero as well.

Re: Mahindra Nuvosport is the updated Quanto

Its amazing how car manufacturers aren't tuned in with the pulse of current generation buyers! Everything seems like a raging bull waging a useless war. I was pretty excited about this machine, especially for the features it was supposed to carry. A buddy who is in the auto-parts business was exposed to designs at an early stage, but post-launch it seems they've stripped it down leaps and bounds from the drawing board version.

Its funny that some real game-changing specs and features have been grossly omitted from variants that might have captured the interests and drawn the attention of urban buyers and feature enthusiasts who look to buy and drive Indian for sheer pride!

Here are the major MISSES, IMO:
  • Micro-Hybrid Technology and ECO/POWER Mode not offered in the N6/N8 AMTs. I couldn't understand the logic behind the omission?!
  • Auto-folding mirrors not offered on any variant. A daft move for a machine breaking into the sporty SUV segment. This was a must have!
  • No Sunroof!
  • Automatic headlamps are sorely missed.
  • No Rain-sensing wipers!
  • Steering module comes only with tilt.
  • Cruise controls mounted directly on the wheel. IMO, these should be on side stalks. Expect unwanted engaging.
  • Door sensors not present. For the N8 @ 912,000, this should have just been there.
  • Just 2 airbags, even in top of the line variants.
  • Boring key!!
  • No auto-dimming IR/OR VMs.

Here's everything I like (most of the goodies are on the N8s, but a lot of must-haves are on ALL variants, unlike in-class counterparts):
  • Smoke-effect tail lamps (ALL!)
  • Sporty Aluminium Pedal Covers (N8)
  • Intellipark Reverse Assist (N8)
  • Lumbar Support ( Driver & Co Driver Seat) (N8).
  • Driver + Co driver Arm rest with multipoint adjust (N8)
  • Puddle Lamps - First & Second row doors (N8)
  • Cruise control (N8) - Yeah! \m/
  • Follow-Me-Home Headlamps (ALL!! YEAH!)
  • Seat Belt with height adjuster (ALL but the N4)
  • Digital Engine Immobiliser/Anti-Theft Warning: This is a hi-tech system from M/S Thatcham. First in class. SotA!
  • Auto Door Lock While Driving (ALL!)
  • Child Lock on Middle and Rear Door (ALL!)
  • ABS with EBD (ALL but N4)

Not sure if this is gonna be a hit, or a miss. There sure will be some takers, esp for a boat-load of features that other manufacturers do not offer! However, the M&M guys can expect a lot of calls from buyers just to tell 'em they're going in for the EcoSport instead!!

Looking forward to the official tear-down, aka, review.

Re: Mahindra Nuvosport is the updated Quanto

IMHO the TUV looks far more macho and bold than the nuvosport,
the TUV is more masculine while the nuvosport looks like his younger beautiful, shy sister .
The two cars can sell side by side as they clearly cater to different audiences(not rural and urban as mahindra says, TUV is pretty much an urban suv).
The main thing is this car although good can not simply compete with the ecosport, mahindra has failed in this respect. The brezza although an inferior engine and interior quality will sell as hot cakes as Maruti ASS is backing it.
all in all a great no. of choices now in the compact arena

Re: Mahindra Nuvosport is the updated Quanto

If they reduce the height and extend the hood as below, and then get rid of the blackened C-pillar, they can bring in a better proportioned vehicle. Excuse for the bad PS job.

Re: Mahindra Nuvosport is the updated Quanto

Dont know why Mahindra is shooting itself in the foot again , This has a disaster written all over it .Initially I thought this would be bridging gap between kUv and TUv but this being a notch above TUv , that is a little bit shocker
