Can somebody post a exec. summary ?

Thank You.....
The prime target.. is the City ZX....
I'll be watching out for CityZX Vs Verna really closely...

Looking at the specs you start wondering why they bothered releasing a petrol version at all, but its going to be tough for them to fight Honda's reputation in the market.

is there any where else the file can be downloaded from.please:

Good find. Their dsl version is definitely going to be their mainstay. The specs of the dsl version look impressive.

Verna has optional ABS Vs NHC which has no ABS?

How true... Very well put.

Just got a call from my uncle who was invited to the sneak preview of the Verna. His first impression of Verna is not a very good one. According to him it is only marginally bigger than his current Accent and does no justify the around 7.0 lakhs starting price. The exact price has not been disclosed by Hyundai yet. He test drove the Elantra (1.8 petrol) and might just go for the GLS version which is for around 7.5 lakhs ex-showroom after discount. It is also rumoured that Hyundai might just withdraw the discount on the Elantra or even increase its price, lest it cannibalizes the Verna.

I just made a quick comparison of Accent GVS/Viva (with the 1.6l engine) with the 1.6 petrol Verna and you can't find much of a difference in the two engines. In fact, the following parameters are exactly the same for the two:

Configuration and No. of Cylinders: 4-Cylinder, in-line, 16-V, DOHC, Petrol
Displacement (cc): 1599
Kerb Wt. : Around 1100 kgs

There is a marginal difference in engine power figures, with the power/torque available for tap at lower rpms in case of Verna:

Max. HP (ps/rpm): 102.6 @ 5,800 (Accent) ; 103.2 @ 5500 (Verna)
Max. Torque (kg m/rpm): 14.4 @ 4,500 (Accent) ; 14.9 @ 3000 (Verna)

Accnet specs from: http://accent.hyundaimotorindia.com/...p?pagename=tec

A thought comes to ones mind - Could the 1.6l engine of the Verna (supposedly the Gamma series engine) be derived from the 1.6l block (Alpha series) found in the Accent GVS and Viva?

I feel now the key for Hyundai is the pricing of the CRDI with VGT diesel, which is the main promising variant.

My humble question for the gentle folks in this forum is ...

When will Hyundai introduce a V6 engine on any of its models in India ?

I was looking at the Embera India website and that too doesn't have any V6 option.

Verna's engine is not a V6 engine. It is a 4-cylinder in-line engine with 16 VALVES (4 valves per cylinder).
