re: Skoda Rapid facelift caught testing. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 8.35 lakhs

Looks like they're offering two separate alloy designs, possibly the newer one exclusive to the Style Plus variant. Good changes. Great looking new gear knob, and a new head unit too - should come with a factory fitted reverse cam this time.

I must say that the nose is wonderfully executed. I preferred the old rear bumper though, this looks more of a change for the sake of it.

Looks sharp and contemporary now, good job Skoda! Now if we could just get the TSI.

Those 5 Spoke Alloys have been in Rapid since Early 2016. They were Introduced when Elegance trim was replaced by Style Plus. The other Black finished one is offered on Black Package. I like the front design better then the current one.

Also, nice Colors on offer. Red has made a comeback, Blue is new while existing colors are expected to continue. Hope there is a Black too.

Good to see red color make a comeback, looks so much sportier.

DRL's are looking nice too, has the potential to eat into Vento Sales. Good job by Skoda on the facelift.

I think it is still not the red that is given in Octavia.
The blue colour is the same that we saw in the model available in the west, I suppose. It should be a a hit in that colour more in real than in pictures.
The interior looks refreshed with the new dual tone shade, with black and beige and the fine touches on gear knob etc.

The website lists both - Rapid and New Rapid - will both the models be sold in conjunction? I did sit an Uber which was a Rapid - perhaps they will take the Dzire Tour route and make the older sibling available only with yellow plates?

Nope, there are two separate five spoke designs. The previous generation style has five slimmer spoke while the new one has wider, flatter spokes.

I like the original curvy spoke best (bias), then the sharper previous gen ones. The new fat, flat spokes look dull to me.

Wow, they've become expensive! In '13 end the petrol Elegance cost me just under 10 on road in Bangalore. Lots of new features since then though, and now a desirable design change too. Wish I could upgrade to the diesel style plus AT

re: Skoda Rapid facelift caught testing. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 8.35 lakhs

Went through the Webcast video, some of the things highlighted have already been part of the outgoing Rapid. So what all are the new changes?

  • New design Elements
  • DRL's
  • Updated 1.5 TDI engine
  • New 6.5 inch color touchscreen HU
  • ABS and Airbags standard across the range (Already there?)
  • New Dual tone interior and leatherette seats (Again, already there?)

Anything else?

So, no rear view camera, it seems?
Skoda has launched some great colours. Solid red, silk blue, dark grey, even white looks amazing with contrasting smoked headlamps and tail lamps. Rapid will certainly be one car where one would be spoilt for choice of colours.

The facelift definitely gives a fresh and fabulous look to the car. The front view makes me drooling. Waiting eagerly for the TBHP review.

But the feature-list by variants (and the brochure as such) is not uploaded in the website when I checked a few minutes back. The interior seems to be better from the gallery there.
