It looks like within 48 hours of the Brezza launch, Ford has felt the heat and has responded in kind. Prices of the EcoSport have been cut across the board with the diesel variants getting the largest reduction of 1.12 lakhs across all trim levels. With these new prices the EcoSport is now priced smack bang in Brezza territory and infact very close to the prices at the time of launch in 2013.

All variants are now also under Rs. 10 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), which means states like Maharashtra and Karnataka will benefit even more with the lower road tax and also benefit by not attracting the proposed 1% luxury tax.

The top end Titanium+ is now really good VFM under Rs. 10 lakhs with leather seats, 6 airbags, auto headlights, rain sensing wipers, auto dimming mirror over the fully loaded Brezza ZDI+.

Old/new prices given below as well as delta in the prices:

Yes, that is the benefit to the customers when there is good competition. Market should not be monopolized. I am liking it :)

I couldn`t check the authenticity of this announcement as Ford is yet to update the new prices in its website. But this is always expected as new kid in the block Brezza is bound to hit it very hard in terms of sales.

This is very exciting. New prices are available here: http://indianautosblog.com/2016/03/f...ice-cut-224361

The EcoBoost makes a compelling case, and also gives you extra safety with six airbags.

I was imagining the people who had booked the ecosport now bee lining for the Brezza. Would like to see the same thing for the Creta but unfortunately Hyundai might not do it.
God bless the competition clap:.

The price-cut of Ecosport has drastically - I mean very drastically - changed the equation now. At 30K less than the base Brezza, we will get a Petrol Ecosport. The missing Petrol option for Brezza will be of Ecosport's advantage. Also, at just 30K over base Brezza, Ecosport Diesel is available.

It is common sense from Ford. Other than Ecosport, none of their cars are selling in good numbers. If the numbers of ecosport too is eroded, ford has to pack their bags.

A price-cut for Brezza even before it hits the roads on cards? stupid: It has to go with the 6.6L tag for the base LDi.

Next in line will be Creta. Let's wait and see what Hyundai has on offer - greed, or common sense?

That is a smart and quick counter move by Ford!

They have not updated their website yet, it does not show the price. Looks like they are in the process of updating!

God bless competition!! A welcome and much warranted move from Ford. The Ecosport diesel engine is superior, but people may still go in for the Vitara Brezza given the strong backing of Maruti brand. Guess even after the price cut, discounts could crop up for Ecosport in a few months!!!

A welcome move by Ford. Customers stand to gain a lot as this leaves Maruti with a very small bandwidth to hike prices for Brezza in the near future. It also means that Ford was fleecing customers all this while. I wonder whether they are planning to cut down some features to accommodate the price drops !

Yes I spoke to dealer and it's confirmed. Now diesel ecosport is terrific vfm car. Probably waiting period again for ecosport .

The price cut on Ecosport seems to reflect in aggregator sites like Carwale:

Here is what I can see as ex-showroom prices for Delhi:

Petrol
Ambiente - 6.68L
Trend - 7.4L
Titanium - 8.56L
Titanium+ - 9.57L
Titanium AT - 10.72L

Ecoboost
Trend+ - 8.18L
Titanium+ - 10.52L

Diesel
Ambiente - 7.28L
Trend - 8.01L
Trend+ - 8.49L
Titanium - 9.16L
Titanium+ - 9.75L

With this price cut, expect S-cross/Creta customers to visit Ford showroom as well.
