Volvo S60 Cross Country launched at Rs. 38.9 lakh

The super safe Volvo S60 Cross Country has been officially launched in India starting 38.9 Lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai, without octroi).

Engine: 2.4-liter diesel powertrain, 190 hp of maximum power and 420 Nm of peak torque.

GC: 201 mm

Safety: 2 step airbag (driver and passenger side), SIPS airbags and inflatable curtains, whiplash protection (front seats), Pyrotechnical Pretensioners (front/rear all positions), and Isofix on outer position rear seats.

Other notable features: EBD, EBA, Hill Descent Control and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). The security features include basic alarm with Interior Movement Sensor (IMS), Personal Car Communicator with Keyless Drive, Home Safe Lighting, and Water Repellent Front Side Windows.

I see a XC70, the cross country version of V70, in my parking lot each day. that is a smart looking and functional car and a worthy replacement to a SUV. similarly, a Cross country version of V60 would make better sense. by name there is already a XC60 but then, my point is that a Cross Country version of a station wagon makes better sense. more practicality.

But then,Volvo must be thinking ahead and maybe they are right with their product placement.

Volvo has launched the S60 Cross Country in India at a price of Rs. 38.9 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai, without octroi).

Based on the regular S60 sedan, the S60 Cross Country comes with a ground clearance of 201 mm (that's 65 mm more than the standard S60), a honeycomb grille, black cladding on the wheel arches, black wing mirrors and skid plates. The car also gets dual exhaust tail-pipes, 18-inch alloy wheels and active bending lights. It is available in a choice of 5 colours – Rich Java, Osmium Grey, Oynx Black, Crystal White and Bright Silver.

The interiors of the S60 Cross Country feature wood and leather, a piano black deco option and a frameless inner rear-view mirror. The car also gets sport seats which are available in single or dual-tone leather with contrast stitching. The interior has 'Clean Zone' (restricts particulate matter, odours & pollen from entering the cabin), an IR reflective windscreen and an electrically heated rear window.

Safety features include City Safety (autonomous braking system), airbags, ABS with EBD and emergency Brake Assist (EBA) among others. The car is further equipped with driver assist functions such as cruise control, parking camera, hill descent control, hill start assist and navigation.

The S60 Cross Country is powered by a 2.4-litre, 5-cylinder turbocharged (D5) unit that produces 188 BHP and 420 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, while power is transferred via an all-wheel drive system.
