The fuel indicator is in the form of a long set of bars displayed at the very bottom of the central MID in the speedo section. Note the "E" at the left end and the "F" at the right end? (check the pic in the above post)

Also, I see two readings on the left and right of the top section of the MID display (in the same pic) - one is for outside temperature and the other could be the engine temperature indicator?

Ya but I prefer the old school temperature gauge. Those MID based bars and overheat blinker are easy to miss if driving in a bright sunny day.

One is time(3:51pm) and the other is outside temperature.

MID is the same as the one on the New Dzire.

A clear picture:

So there is no engine temperature gauge?

I thought the left side showed 35 F! Benefits of growing old...I need glasses now!

Yes, the analog meters are much easier on the eyes, plus give the driver an instant idea of the exact position. The bar display, unless extremely bright to counter the sunlight, can be tough to read.

Let's hope there's a brightness adjustment control provided to counter this.

I'm sure there will be some overheating blinker which you'll certainly miss when your engine decides to smoke.

Dzire gets an indicator on the instrument panel. Quoting our own Teambhp review:

Quote:
. Blue indicator comes on when you start the car in the morning & the engine is cold. When the engine has reached its operating temperature, it disappears. Keep the revvs low when this light is on. Also, it will turn red if the motor overheats:

Gc of 163mm . What maruti is upto? In Bangalore even 170mm is way less. I was nervous to see 165mm for Jazz.

This is measured the new way. Done the old way it would be around 170.

As per the above attached Brochure; Ground Clearance(mm)* carries a * mark. Which on bottom RHS states *Basis Unladen Condition.

Which means it is not calculated as per new Laden condition. Maruti playing it smart. 5 Pax and luggage filled boot, car will sag further down. Happy scrapping.

Journalist too can make mistakes.

These seem to be on the higher side than Baleno towards the upper limit.
If the actual prices are close enough, its going to be a hard time for customers.

Baleno (Excluding RS)
Rs 5.36L to Rs 8.4L for the petrols (Including A/T)
Rs 6.51L to Rs 8.5L for the diesels

re: The 2018 next-gen Maruti Swift - Now Launched!

Maruti Suzuki, you've removed quite a load of features from the Swift. I hope at least the Sport variant will get all of the features like Full Colour MID, Proper gauges for temperature and fuel, UV Cut glass, telescopic steering, electrochromic IRVM, auto wipers and hopefully cruise control too to nicely fill out that gorgeous steering wheel.
